So...small consolation, I suppose, since the mission was unaccomplished? |

At some point, Kavanaugh will have to answer for the financial issues related to his nomination. There is a conflict of interest in terms his NEEDING Trump to remain in office for as long as possible.
That is why Supreme Court nominations need to be fully vetted before being approved for a lifetime appointment. |
See? You believe no woman. In fact, with no evidence whatsoever, you accuse these two accusers of making this up for political reasons, which strikes me as more Republicurd projection but proves my point. You don’t believe women ever, full stop. Even when one of the women has 25 witnesses. It’s not about “photography memories,” whatever that might be, it’s about the fact that sexual assault is pervasive in our culture, pretty commonplace even, and people like you deny it exists. And I’m about as obsessed with patriarchy and misogyny as I am with the weather. All three things exist. |
No, because Gorsuch was simply filling Scalia's seat....thus, no perceived threat to Roe. Any conservative judge nominated to fill Kennedy's swing vote seat, would have gone through the same crap as Kavanaugh did. Do none of you ask yourself why NONE of these issues were ever brought up by anyone during the MULTIPLE background investigations that he has gone through previously, during his professional career? So all of these accusers were perfectly OK with him sitting on the Court of Appeals, but once they thought he was a threat to Roe (which he is not), all of the sudden he is this monster? Please. |
| Kavanaugh is bullet proof. He is part of America's ultra ruling elite where the almighty dollar is the only thing that counts. He will not be called upon to defend his actions. |
What an odd blanket statement that I believe no woman. I admire your naïveté in believing that all women always remember everything and never act out of partisan reasons. Both Ford and Katz said that they were motivated by their concern over limiting abortions if Kavanaugh were on the Court. I did not Say that they had made up anything, just ask the 4 witnesses who were at the party with Ford and the 25 witnesses who were at the party with Ramirez. Oh wait, they did not have the same or any memory of the events. Do continue your mundane obsessions with misogyny, patriarchy, and the weather. It suits. |
And there it is. For every credible accusation there is this denial. That’s the state of affairs people. Here is where we’re at in this country. As our rights get stripped away and justice be damned. |
[b] First, he IS a threat to Roe. But second, to think all these women just made this up in a well coordinated attack because it is a swing seat? No way. I wish the left were that organized, then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. These are multiple allegations over multiple decades, with many witnesses. There should have been a thorough investigation that probably would be wrapping up NOW, but then the GOP couldn't have pushed through dear old Brett with Trump as an albatross around their neck and 2020 looming. Court of Appeals is much different than SCOTUS. Look at all the death threats and ire these women have brought upon themselves, if they waited until he was up for SCOTUS it makes sense. But without a legit investigation we will never know. |
Gorsuch was filling Garland’s seat and when they prove that McConnell knew Russia was working on the GOP’s behalf, Gorsuch should be impeached, too. But that’s not germane to this convo. Pervy Brett’s gross behavior is. |

Aren’t there 94 judges on the court of appeals?
In any case the media hardly covers nominations. Equating it with scotus is nonsense. |
+1 Those other posters don't care about those facts--only their efforts to vilify him. |
It's not equating it with scotus to point out that these accusations of terrible behavior that could impact his ability to serve as a judge weren't brought up to public scrutiny before. |
I absolutely do not believe every man and every woman who accusers another person of anything. Neither do I believe every person who's accused. People lie for all kinds of reasons. |
| All this about a drunk college kid dropping his pants? Admit it, you all don’t really care that much about this, do you? You just don’t care for his politics and you’ll use any measure to get your way. |
Good god, Cletus. We talked this to death when it was brought up a year ago. You don’t know anything about background checks, do you? Here’s how it goes, at least the relevant to your point missing part here: you provide all of your past addresses from x many years prior - dorms, apartments, etc - and a person who knew you at that time and can verify questions they ask. As Bretty did not provide the names of his victims as a reference, it didn’t come up. Do you understand? If he didn’t bring it up, no one was going to bring it up. |
