I'm the PP with the 7yo with underarm odor. It's a little early, but within the range of normal. No other signs of precocious puberty. We both work in healthcare and one of us is a pediatrician; we're not concerned. |
Nope, you don’t. Hate to burst your weird bubble. I have non sweaty non stinky little girls who bathe 2-3x a week. You have no idea. I would put them in a lineup with 100 kids and you would never pick them out. |
Mothers can’t smell their own children. Ask a friend who swears to be honest with you. Our babysitter told us DD smelled after she missed her bath one night. |
Why would these teachers lie to you, PP? |
Because they haven’t taught my kids? |
I really don't give one crap what you think! My 3 kids have never bathed more than every other day except in summer (now as pre-teen athletes) and they're now in late elementary and middle school. They have a TON of friends and get invited to other people's houses many times a week. They are straight A students and excellent athletes. Why should I care that they don't bathe daily in the winter? It is not affecting their social lives one iota. They get more playdates, texts, sleepover requests, etc. than they know what to do with. |
Thank you! People with smelly kids just can’t accept that not all kids smell! |
PP back to say maybe lay off the dairy or figure out what is making your child age 7 or younger smell so bad. Not typical. |
No. 5 year old boy and 2 year old girl. Every 2 to 3 days unless we had a particularly sweaty day or went to the pool. Bathing every day is bad for your skin. |
Hell yes!!! |
Okay. Your daughter smelled after missing a bath. Maybe she got sweaty, maybe she didn’t wipe well. Enough with all the martyring. If your child smells, please give him or her a bath. If they don’t, proceed to business as usual. I could wash my kid every night and all it takes is one bathroom without me properly wiping him and we are in trouble. You can’t always tell if someone has had a bath or not, so teachers please stop the shaming. |
That’s like saying because someone’s breath smells that they didn’t brush their teeth that morning. Maybe they had a bagel, maybe they had onions....bad breath doesn’t automatically mean that someone failed to brush their teeth hair like body odor doesn’t mean that someone didn’t take a bath. |
Not hair *just like.
Thanks spell check! |
I have to say that I’m shocked so many people are this uptight about bathing every day! Relax...a little dirt is good for you. |
+1 my DS also started having odor around 7. Early, but not abnormal. We started him on deodorant. Also, no other signs of puberty. If he didn’t bathe daily, he would stink! You’d be surprised - take a close whiff of your kids armpits. |
