Oh, please. The idea that it's absolutely necessary for every woman to shower every day of their period is absurd. Maybe especially, um, juicy women find it necessary in order to feel and smell clean, but certainly not all women.

And, it's rude for you to declare that it's disgusting.

But it’s not rude for you to call women who shower each day “juicy?”

+1,000 the hypocrisy on here amazes me

And yes, it’s still disgusting to not shower daily when on your period.

Yes.

Exception: a couple of winters where preschooler DD had terrible eczema.

Having young kids bathe every day teaches them the importance of hygiene, and is also the perfect segue to bed. I could not have transitioned to bedtime without a bath when my kids were little.

I don’t think being juicy has anything to do with needing to shower daily when you’re on your period. It’s more about getting any dried blood off your privates that can dry and stink. Most people don’t sleep with a tampon in overnight. That morning blood all over the privates needs to be washed off.

A baby wipe is much more efficient.

What if they skip swim class? No reason to bathe that week?

pp here. i have been very ill lately and could barely move this weekend. i am a single mom with no family to help so things are rough right now but luckily my friend stopped by to bring over food for the kids and i.

you guessed it though. since i was not well enough to get them to swim class yes unfortunately my kids did miss swim this weekend which means that they didn't get their weekly shower.

Your kids went two weeks without bathing? Holy crap.

Ours gets a strategic bath every day. Sometimes that’s just a washcloth, or quick bottom rinse. And a full bath or shower every second or third day, more often if funky or after a sweaty night’s sleep. Definitely a bath a few times a week with a bit of epsoms to soak all the bits. Kid is 4, when she’s bigger will increase to daily.

Well of course. Not bathing or showing is always more efficient. That doesn’t mean it’s best practice. You will stink.

yes, of course!

Is it that hard/big of a deal for some of you to just jump in the shower for 3 minutes? Like you’ll sit here justifying that you DEFINITELY don’t stink during your period - are you that lazy? Jesus just a quick rinse at least! You’re definitely those people who think they’re well groomed and put together and that you don’t “need” to shower but everyone in the office and on public transit can smell how sour you smell. You’re not special. Take a f-ing shower.

+1,000! In the time it took to justify not needing to shower while on your period, you could actually have been washing that funk pay period blood off you!

No blood comes out of me during the night, because I’m horizontal.
