I don't understand everyone saying this is Natalie Portman trying to rewrite something embarrassing. Why would it be embarrassing for her that she dated a famous musician when she was young? The only reason to deny it is because she felt gross about it at the time and feels compelled to deny it despite it being a nothing story without her comment.

I also don't understand everyone saying her career is stalling. She's an oscar winning actress. She had a baby in 2017. She was nominated for an Oscar in 2017 for her work on Jackie and she was in the critical hit Annihilation in 2018 among some other small work.

She's clearly taking it easy a bit while she has a young child but her last full working year on the circuit she was a strong contender for best actress.

Natalie Portman doesn't want a skeevy guy lying about her.

And as other posters have said, it is far more believable that Moby thought an 18 year old girl was into him and hung out a little longer than he could trying to get into her pants than she is embarrassed about something that wouldn't have been particularly embarrassing.

NP, I'm from LI. You need to learn some geography. Manhattan is a borough of NYC, as is the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. Brooklyn and Queens are physically on LI so some of the geographical LI is part of NYC. Generally, you don't say you are from LI unless you are from Nassau or Suffolk County and if I remember correctly, Natalie Portman is from somewhere in Nassau.

I think a lot of stars are so used to being fawned over that they don't realize when someone doesn't like him. He was into her and it never occurred to him that she wouldn't want to be with MOBY. So he ignored any signs that a normal person might pick up on. It's pretty gross to me.
