Hey. I see you. Update us, okay? If you make it, we'll all eat cake in your honor, and if you don't, well I can't promise anything, but if you die we will submit a petition for the memoriam at the Emmy's for you. You're special, even if our dads didn't yell at us for screaming each time you showed up on tv each Wednesday night.

Not the PP but this made me laugh and cry huge, weeping snotty tears all at the same time.

Goal achieved! I have quite a way with words sometimes.

Yes, we confirmed this 3 pages ago.

He drove the Porsche way more than he rode the motorcycle. And the most memorable motorcycle ride, leaving the show after Toni died, was completely undermined by the stupid cat carrier:

RIP, Dylan.

God you are an was.

Why do u assume he overate red meat? He was slim.

Because he expressly stated that in an interview?

Some info about his health issues in the last few years:

Nothing too bad but who knows what the story was with his back surgery (reported by a neighbor).

I think it comes from him being one of my first celebrity crushes, and also because I rediscovered that crush in Riverdale- he aged so well.

But I think what makes it worse, is because it was from natural causes... or at least seems to be. Rather than suicide or overdose.. he just reached an age where that kind of thing happens... and while it is still way too young, it isn't that far off from when "normal" people start to pass. And, what is also hard to believe, is that "we" (the age of people who grew up with Dylan McKay) are entering that zone... that closer to death phase of life. It is like a close childhood friend passing.. which is all too much to bear.

Agree. A 50 year-old cousin of mine died last month, from recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer. I'm still reeling from the loss, and realize this is how my mother's friends felt many years ago, when she passed away in her early 50's. This is the age where these things start, and we don't know who among us will be struck. It's a frightening thing.

My mom recently passed away from Pancreatic Cancer also.
Unfortunately, unless you're a candidate for the whipple surgery, Pancreatic Cancer is an automatic death sentence & a quick one at that (thankfully).

Most people die within weeks of being diagnosed, as it's so hard to detect in your Pancreas.

This news is unbelievable though... Luke Perry???
The age demographic hits a little too close to home.

I'm sorry about your mother, PP.

Two years ago my seemingly healthy 50 year old cousin also died from cancer. She was hospitalized with sudden-onset symptoms, told she had stage 4 cancer and died before they had finished typing it. Having had an aunt who died eight months after receiving as pancreatic cancer diagnosis, I was shocked by how swiftly it happened. No more than three weeks from overt symptoms to death.

I read somewhere that 50s is a risky decade for men in particular, that they tend to suffer a high rate of health crises in this time. But if they reach 60, they statistically have a good chance of reaching a ripe old age (80+). I'll see if I can find the study.

Health implications from smoking and drinking have been known for decades, centuries even. Aren't they obvious.
Look at his pictures, photos of those in the same condition.
