Same! I am also having grad school flash backs. So sorry for Perry's family and friends. It sounds like he was a good guy. |
Really? I need more information! |
| The outpouring of tributes from fellow celebrities is very sweet. To a one, they stress his kindness and big heart. It seems we've lost a good one, on all levels. RIP, Luke Perry. |

My DH and I are fairly close in age to him, and have young kids that still need us so very much. It’s so scary; he was young (and 52 IS young for a massive stroke like that, whether someone smoked or not).
It sounds like he was a very wonderful and much-loved man who made his mark. RIP Luke Perry. |
Omg - SHUT UP!!! |
This one from Colin Hanks is great. https://www.instagram.com/p/BunCwtjFxRc/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet |
Oh my gosh, that is making me emotional! God bless you, Luke! RIP. |
| Heavy drinking suggests a fall down drunk - drinking daily or exceeding the weekly values are cause. As for smoking, whether he was a current, past smoker or subject to second hand smoking factors in. Diet/exercise also - he was skinny but in all accounts does not look healthy - how many thin/skinny people associate that with being healthy - my bro had 2 heart attacks = he was huge (300 + pounds) I visited him in the ICU cardiac wing and all his roomies were what i considered tiny men (150lbs or less) and were all in there because of multiple cardiac infractions. It is very unfortunate for Luke Perry and too bad he did not get the warning type of stroke (TIAJ) as he may still be here. |
It's actually not that uncommon, esp if you have high blood pressure. Get your blood pressure checked and keep it down. There's a reason it's called the silent killer |
Just googled: “Nearly three quarters of all strokes occur above the age of 65.” It certainly happens in the 50s but it’s much less common and is shocking when it does — especially in someone youthful and fit. |
You are awful to personally wildly speculate on a strangers death. |
This is not accurate. You can quit smoking for a decade and still die from the effects. We have to stop putting the blame on individuals though. We allow companies to develop products and foods that are unhealthy utterly for us. No one is immune from this part of the equation. |
That’s a great story in the link. It sounds like Luke Perry was kind. |
My good friend's 6 year old kindergartener had a stroke. I guess it's his fault too. Often there is no understandable reason for a stroke. You are a horrible person trying so hard to blame the victim. Check your soul. |
Individuals have the right to drink, smoke and live their lives as dangerously as they want. "Heathy people" who live long lives cost a frickin fortune the last ten years of life with assisted living and constant medical care. Not to mention dimentia or Alzheimer's. People who drink and smoke die quickly and save the health system boatloads of money. Inevitably on top of the exorbident health costs "healthy people" end up with a stroke, cancer or heart attack at 90 just like Luke Perry. And besides the 10 years of intensive heathcare and the ultimate cancer/stroke/heart attack .. "Healthy people" usually have regular checkups and expensive medical diagnosis procedures even when younger for decades. Healthy people drain the health dollars like pigs. |
