Last year's info is available on the report card - 71 PK3, 60 PK, 54 K.

49 1st, 30 2nd, 28 3rd. And grades 4, 5, and 6 all had fewer than 10 kids each.

None of this bodes well for the new Montessori middle/high school.

Just wanted to know what the numbers are like for this year if possible.

You can view the enrollment data here: https://osse.dc.gov/node/1579401

Looks like they are down further, to a total of 245. Seems like even the PK3 is low, which is a real red flag because that's when parents are most willing to accept an iffy school for free preschool.

Thank you for this.

I guess this data shows a general trend of not staying the course.

If you look at each year's data on the OSSE website you can see that the total enrollment has consistently declined. Even though many schools held steady or grew during the pandemic. It's not a good sign.

Montessori schools continously "build up" at transitions grades (1st and 4th), and then level off. 28 5th graders is pretty impressive.

Is 12 4th graders impressive? Is a net decline in total enrollment impressive?

28 5th graders is impressive, but what is not is that only 10 are in 6th grade. Why? Bad choice? Discovered how bad? The 28appears to be an anomaly.

So they would seem to have failed to "build up" in 4th. And with such a 5th-heavy enrollment, how are they achieving the balance of ages that Montessori schools typically seek?

Sojourner Truth starts in 6th so many Montessori kids go on instead of finishing the upper elementary cycle.

Did you see the recent thread where a mom said her kid received literally no feedback or attention? Literally progress reports that were blank, multiple times. This school should be consigned to the dust bin.

Did they have a lot of 5th graders the prior year though?
