Serena is a bully and a crybaby

From a man’s perspective. See WaPo for a woman’s.

Chris Evert said immediately and later again in the broadcast that the chair ump was out of line.

This is a female/black thing more than people are able to admit.

It’s good to be emotional but it’s bad not to be able to control your emotions. She was warned but couldn’t help revisiting the coaching warning.....literally couldn’t stop herself even though she knew the consequences. She deserved everything she got. Unsportsmanlike conduct and an obvious gambit to get the crowd even more vocal in her favor to unnerve Osaka.

Serena is a queen. Naomi is a queen.

+1,000,000. Serena telling the crowd not to "boo" Naomi was pure class. Naomi's moment was stolen by the judge (and the crowd),

The world owes you an apology

It’s your blackness that offends

One thing that bothered me about Serena’s reaction was when she was complaining to the chair umpire about not being coached she said something like, “I have a daughter and I have to do right by her.” WHAT? Who the hell cares if you have a daughter now? This is not at all pertinent to the issue. Would a man say this to the chair? Nope.

I agree that Serena is a bully (this was not the first incident.... one that comes to mind is when she threatened a judge by saying she would cram the ball down her throat if she could (with profanity included).

Congrats to Osaka. She was humble and displayed great sportsmanship. And, she played a great game, despite the controversy.

This. Serena Williams is no role model for girls. Never was, and never will be.

LOL. Hope she gets suspended for a long time.

Oh, please. Serena whipped the crowd into a frenzy during the match and stole osaka’s moment. You don’t get to take that back by asking the crowd not to boo at the trophy presentation. Plain and simple, she acted like an entitled prima donna and bully yesterday. Great athlete, no class yesterday.

+1. Osaka outplayed Serena in every facet of the game.

I agree. Serena knew she was losing in the second set and used the penalties to stir up the already partisan crowd in the hopes that it would both energize her and disrupt Osaka. I also thought Serena’s weak compliment that her opponent played “well” was a tremendous understatement and was disrespectful of the match.

Carry on with your petty comments about Serena and stop complaining about double standards in your own lives.

Amen. But women have always torn other women to shreds while making excuses for men who for do the same crap and worst. Women, unfortunately always show their true nature towards other women - catty and biatchy. It’s the nature.

Trying to turn the fact Serena lost a match to a young woman of color into a race/gender bias issue is idiotic.

Thats because all the commentators were siding towards Serena to win. Chris Evert, Pam Shriver and Mary Joe Fernandez should not be allowed as commentators going forward if they are biased towards a player. They should be neutral.

That’s laughable. Over the years, Chris Everett has famously derided and spoken ill of Serena Williams. Now you are claiming she was bias in favor of Serena. Girl bye.

You know, sometimes an issue isn’t men vs. women or black vs. white. It’s about a person’s behavior during a tough moment. That’s what this is about. Serena’s behavior during a tough situation. She didn’t handle it well. And, she doesn’t get a pass because she’s a mom, or a black woman or a super athlete.

This is beautiful. Yes, people feel threatened by a strong black woman.

Did you see Nadal touching his bowls? And what about the noise he makes probably to distract the opponent?
