How bad will Georgetown Pike be during school drop off hours in McLean?

This proposal is DOA. No wonder people show up at community meetings and are overwhelmingly against it.

Per the VDOT engineer: "Moore repeatedly used the term 'a wash' when describing the potential change in Beltway traffic movement as a result of the ramp closure – it would simply send the bottleneck further down the line, toward the already congested interchange with the Dulles Toll Road, and further down I-495 to Tysons and beyond.

Make no mistake about it. This is simply an effort by Langley HS families to push traffic into other areas that are "already congested."

Op here. Traffic was light yesterday and today but I quickly realized everyone is on vacation. We would probably also be on vacation but we made the school open house a priority.

I’m dreading traffic next week when school starts. I’m actually a bit frightened at how bad it will be.

Hunter Mill Rosd is historic and too congested. People use it as s but through. Time to close it from 1-7. People need to use 66, 223, and DTR. Stop using HMR as a cutbthtough!

But seriously, years back there was a no through trucks sign. It got removed and now trucks use it to cut through to DTR. Shameful how our local politicians fall at the feet of the wealthier. Sad.

Yes, traffic is worse after school starts. This is not unique to parents whose children attend Churchill Road ES.

I think we should stick it to the rich people in Langley because who cares about them. Just the thought of them irks me, and reminds me that I will never live up to what my parents wanted for me. When I moved here, I saw how the other half lived, and it really pissed me off! Now, I will commute that way, even if it means I go ten minutes out of my way.

Perfect time for a commuter tax, like in Philadelphia.

As satire goes, this is extremely weak. If there's any class warfare on display here, it's Langley families asking politicians and VDOT to steer more cars (and car fumes) to less tony areas.

As long as the toll booths are on Balls Hill or Georgetown Pike, definitely.

But who doesn't want to stick it to the rich people? Are you with me?

EZ Pass $40./day, one way.

Should be paid by Langley residents seeking to travel in the opposite direction as well. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."

Actually, EZ Pass on the on ramp to the inner loop from Georgetown Pike might be a great compromise.

Actually, there's no rationale for EZ Pass on the on-ramp from Georgetown Pike, but not other entrances to the inner loop of the Beltway. It's just another attempt to divert drivers to other parts of NoVa that already have plenty of traffic.
