| Before they do anything, FCPS needs to change the school boundaries. |
It's not just about cars and fumes. It's that we can't get out of/into our own neighborhood at certain times of the day. Some people literally can't get out of their own driveways because of commuter traffic backed up on residential streets. |
There are roads all over the region with heavy traffic, and drivers still allow other people to enter the road, whether they are coming from their homes, garages, or strip malls. It might require you to put on your turn signal and make some effort to pull into the street. It sounds like there is more than a little hyperbole taking place here from people who think they are entitled to roads with virtually no traffic. |
+1000. |
+1 Don’t be talking common sense here, PP. Not allowed. |
| Interesting that one of the big proponents of closing the Georgetown Pike ramp is a Langley politico who held herself out as the campaign manager for a slate of mostly unsuccessful candidates for the School Board back in 2011. I wonder if she’s trying to raise her profile again before the elections next year. She seems to have a unique ability to pick the wrong issues and the wrong horses. |
No, paid by non residents. |
+1 Right, quoting Marx? Really? LOL. |
On their one to five acre plots of land they refuse to install a turn around. |
LOL. I think they get the vapors when they see other cars that aren't expensive imports. |
Because if they had been Republicans it never would have gone down the way it did.
Want to buy a bridge? |
| So does OP commute to Maryland? That would be ironic. |
Langley is one of the most Republican high school district in the county along with Robinson. Its current boundaries were largely set by Republican Stu Mendelsohn when he was on the SB, and his predecessors. If some there now wish the roads were wider, or that they were zoned for Herndon or South Lakes rather than Langley, it's a recent development and the opposite of what they've expressed to Foust and Strauss for the past decade. |
I live on the other side of Dolley Madison, on the Mclean side and I am so glad to see traffic congestion on the Langley side, especially Old Georgetown Pike. Everyday when I drive home to Mclean from Gatherburg, MD and I see mile and mile of car on Old Georgetown Pike heading toward MD, it really makes my day . Langley people get a taste of their own medicine.

Can’t follow this. Old Georgetown Road is in Maryland. Do you travel on Georgetown Pike coming back from Gaithersburg? Isn’t that the stretch that is supposed to be so congested? |
