2021 is great. 2022 pretty goodm. rest of club is garbage |

Trying to sift thru all this and still confused. The story seems to be that assistant coaches, who have their club team, convinced the school to fire a longstanding coach, teacher and parent who has put the lacrosse program on the map. The school supposedly gave in because the assistant coach's club team prepaid field rent for a few years for its club team? That makes no rational sense.
How bad did the relationship have to be between the coaches for this to happen. If it was so bad, wouldn't the head coach have just fired the assistants? I'm thinking there's more to this story and the prior posts are all speculative. |
21 are good 22 where good with BLC now new coach with DCE took a step back. |
|
There is some more speculation in that, contractually, the Performance/DCE coaches may be entitled to some form of reimbursement by the school if they are forced out of their current coaching contracts. Also, it is widely speculated the current coach upset a faction of Bullis parents by playing his recruits and transfers over the Performance/DCE full tuition paying/recruits/transfers when those parents were promised playing time and roster spots by Performance/DCE.
Great private school drama and Bullis has made a mess of it. |
|
What is very interesting is one of the DCE coaches is also a full time teacher at Bullis. You really think he would put his job in jeopardy by trying to oust the Bellistri. This is much deeper than DCE relationship with Bullis or pay for play politics, there is a story and it will come out sooner rather than later.
The simple fact the administration has not made a public announcement since the Wash Post article indicates to me the situation is still under investigation. |
That was the parents first mistake. A verbal promise is not worth anything. |
|
These coaches play to win and it's up to the head coach to determine how that will happen. Unless there's bribery - 100% of the time, they choose to play the best players whether they're recruits, full pay or not, whatever - best players play. Sounds like parents lost sight of that!
Now if the team is up by a lot, a nice coach will then let the second stringers go in if there's a solid lead, but that's up to the coach's discretion and not all coach that way. |

I just don’t understand how parents believe “promises of playing time” or are surprised when their kid is beaten out for a spot by someone who is better. That’s life.
These parents need to get their priorities in order and set a better example for their kids rather than trying to get a respected coach and teacher fired. |
| I think current Bullis parents are more annoyed than anything that Bellistri brought in one of the best players in the country for one year, and now the kid is returning back home for his senior year. Bringing in one year players is not going to fly to parents who have been at the school long-term and are most likely writing the checks. |
Then Bullis parents should have spoken up when the football coach did it. Seems a little hypocritical that now it’s an issue. |
|
Let me get this straight, the Bullis coach bring in the best player in the country for a year and the kid is transferring back home after season?
If I were Bullis, I would be be utterly embarrassed. |
I heard he was staying. |
| He is going back to STAB and Bullis already knows this. |
Do you enjoy paying $300 for a tryout? VLC is one club that is 2/3 the price of the other guys, and they get just as many recruits as Madlax or BW. But generally speaking, there are many clubs that are about the kids and not the profits. NL is a much better alternative. DCE only has 1-2 strong teams. Enjoy the koolaid |
