Most overrated restaurant you've eaten at recently

YES! Way overpriced and just ok. And what seemed like very small pours of overpriced wine. Wanted to love it.

by FAR- minibar. And to boot it was the most expensive meal by far, ever and it was pretty terrible. My friend didn't even finish one of her courses and they didn't even bat an eye. But it was so pretentious and unsatisfying.

+1 And I left smelling like a campfire. So add my dry cleaning bill to the already-overpriced evening.

To everyone saying "founding farmers," how did you not know it's horrible? It has has horrible reviews and is not overrated, although how it stays in business, I'm not sure.

To OP, why the F did you drive out to Ashburn to eat? Unless you live in Frederick or something, I don't know why anyone would drive there for a meal.

+2. And the service is the absolute worst.

I agree with all of these. So disappointing. We even gave it a second chance thinking maybe we caught it on an off day. Nope.

+4

Terrible.

I felt the same way in 2006.

No, no, no...... Roses luxury is in no way overrated. The queue is a hassle but the price is reasonable and the food is superb!

“Queue?” I thought we were talking about DC, not London, restaurants. Or maybe you’re just trying to sound fancy.

Its just a better word, more precise.. If I say "the wait" its pretty vague. "The line" not really ideal either. I don't know, is there a better way to say it? I mean I grew up in Michigan but I quickly adopted this from my English friends because I thought it was a more efficient way of describing it.

You get there before it opens, and you stand in . . . wait for it . . . a line. "The line" works fine. Stop putting on airs.

Compare
"You get there before it opens, and you stand in . . . wait for it . . . a line"
to "queue"

Much simpler. I have no affinity for England which you seem to as you thinks queue is fancy whereas I think its just a word.
Restroom/bathroom is superior to water closet to me *shrugs*

In line is better in the US. Queue makes you sounds like a tool.

So if I say, "the problem with Roses Luxury is "the line"."

versus

"the problem with Roses Luxury is "the queue"."

In my view "the line" really doesn't mean anything and requires further explanation.

when you say "the queue" its clearer that you have to get a spot or number.

Um, what else would “the line” mean in this situation?

You’re an idiot. You don’t say, “You get there before it opens, and you stand in . . . wait for it . . . a line.” You just say “the line” instead of “the queue.” Just own up to the fact that you want to put on airs, it’s fine (which is ridiculous, btw, given that you are from Michigan LOL).

If you emphasize "the line" it doesn't explain that you have to wait and come back. It gives the indication that you have to wait a while with no reservation.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of coworkers who were recommending it, so it was not based on reviews at all.

DC is still trash. I’m not from Michigan, I’m not from DC, and I’m not putting on airs. I’m also not the PP who wrote that.

Tourists and suburbanites who (i) know nothing about food, and (ii) incessantly post on Yelp.
