This. I've never understood the hype for that place. And we had the worst service.

so it's just like a Parisian cafe? it's all about the vibe and locale

I like the similar restaurant with the same owners on Rittenhouse Sq in Philly. Same food, better view, less hype.

Bland (except for overly salty falafel), non-authentic and really just underwhelming. Mediocre ambiance and service.

OMG yes. My husband is always recommending it to visitors because he can walk there for lunch. I always glare at him and mouth “stop. Just stop.” It’s only good if you are visiting from Ohio and think it’s exotic.

I went there a few weeks ago with friends (their pick) and it was not a great experience. The place was pretty empty for 7 PM on a Saturday, yet it still took an hour to get our food. Then my steak that I ordered medium-rare was medium-well verging on plain well done. The server asked everyone to cut theirs upon delivery to check if they came out to specification and none were correct! How can you be a steakhouse that can't deliver properly cooked steaks?! They did correct the misfired steaks quickly, I will say that, but they were just okay and on the level of an Outback. I mean, for $50 I was expecting much better. The person in our group who got the crab cakes was complaining of stomach issues later.

Sock puppeting? Are you an ex-employee with a grudge? I can't believe a restaurant is consistently giving people stomach issues. The health department would shut them down in a heartbeat if that is the case.

Np here. Obviously you have never eaten there. It’s pretty bad for the price. We will never go back, once was enough.

+2. And the service is the absolute worst.

I'm this comment poster. You can definitely submit to Jeff to verify I'm not the OP of the thread. Just another person who ate there recently and had a lackluster experience.

Founding Farmers has never been good. I don’t know how it is still in business.

Totally agree. It's OK, but it's a basic French bistro which shouldn't be the kind of place you have to book weeks in advance, it should just be a walk in, casual thing. The food was nice but not spectacular, and I agree that the service was not great.

Agree - didn't understand this place at all. I think it's probably a victim of its own success - if you could just turn up and eat, it would be great, but the whole having to line up for hours/pay someone to do that hypes it up more than it's worth.

Just had a $500 meal at bourbon steak (had a gift certificate.) Totally underwhelmed. Felt the same as others about inn At little Washington. I do really love tail up goat but haven’t been back in a few months.

+100. It's food is so disappointing and terrible service.

Some of the other restaurants listed aren't surprising because they aren't highly regarded, such as Oceanaire or Clyde's.

This. Horrible service, enormous wait times even with a reservation. Will never go back.
