So, I guess I'll just stay a Republican, disavow racism, live my life as a good person, and know that being a Republican, like I have been my entire adult life, does not suddenly make me a racist. And if you feel you need to, then go ahead and continue claiming that it does.

I wish some of the reasonable liberals would speak out against some of the horrendously bigoted and sexist remarks when a liberal spews them, since it does give liberals a bad name and negates their claims that they are the party who is opposed to bigotry. For example, when a liberal calls someone "Jew boy," as happened this morning, it's pretty bad. I remind myself that such a person is a rare bigot among liberals, but then I would ask liberals to return the favor - and stop painting all, of even half, of all conservatives as racists.

Do you have any evidence of this nutty claim? I have never seen the check-in volunteers let someone back without an ID matching their registration in the book.

I am Jewish liberal, and I and people I know close to me have fought against antisemitism on the left.

However all the leading Va Dems are not only opponents of antisemitism, they are all strong supporters of Israel.

However Ed Gillespie right now is running a nasty campaign. Running against restoring voting rights to EX felons after their time is served, which we all know disproportionately effects people of color - and using a scare campaign about sex crimes to do that.

He may not be a racists personally, but he is using the formula perfected by Lee Atwater of playing on racial fears to win votes.
