let me guess, OP, you are totally fine with the attack ads against Northam that have been debunked and are false?
Both sides have an ad out in poor taste. Gillespie has several more attacking Northam though. Or do you just cherry pick? |
Were they ads using little minority children, portraying them as being hunted down to be run down by a racist white guy in a truck? |

This is the gist of the ad from the above link.
"A young Latino boy runs for his life from a speeding black pickup with a Tea-Party license plate, a Confederate Flag flapping in the wind, and a faceless white man behind the wheel. Each time the truck guns its engine, the boy runs past another minority who sprint along in terror. Eventually they’re trapped in an alley without an exit. The kids are as good as dead because obviously being Republican means being bloodthirsty." |
| The ad in question was not paid for by Ralph Northam, the candidate, but rather a 3rd party group. |
+100 I hope Northam gets trounced based on this ad alone. Shameful. |
Sounds like an apt metaphor to me. The Republicans currently in government are pushing for policies that will actively harm and in some cases kill poor children, who are disproportionately minorities. For example, they have let CHIP expire. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2017/10/01/9-million-kids-get-health-insurance-under-chip-congress-just-let-it-expire/?utm_term=.7babd1b16101 |
Oh, and a Gillespie bumper sticker on the back of the pickup truck. |
I don't see anything wrong with the ad. It's clearly a dream that the boy is having. |
Yes, OP. Let's hear what you think about the Northam ads. |
Sound like your friends in the basket? |
And? |
I don't have a single friend who could be characterized as the above. You think the very worst example of one group of people should represent the entirety of the group? Can I let you in on a little secret? There are a wide range of people in any group - the good, the bad and the ugly. Try to think of people as individuals and not as stereotypes. If you know some people who aren't exactly like you, though, you already know that. |
| If liberals want to keep perpetuating the lie that Republicans are the cause of racial division, maybe they themselves should stop running despicable ads that drive racial division. What hypocrites. |
Terrible people. Horrible. My liberal husband's division at work is re-orging to Plano TX. I told him that I'd go yesterday. He is a liberal and wants to stay here. Our marriage will eventually fail if he refuses to retire elsewhere - I cannot live here for the rest of my life amongst these horrible people. |
