it is pretty obvious that most of the liberal posters here don't care what he says, they are more concerned on looks and how he dresses. typical elite crap. |
Good point. This is why I buy lots of made in japan stuff - at least I know it's has a high chance actually being crafted by a Japanese person. Even if you buy a made in Germany, France, or USA item most likely it was really made by a Turk, North African, or Hispanic. |
The cheap lettuce and $1 avocado crap is a tired meme. We don't need anywhere near the farm labor we needed even 20 years ago due intelligent manned and/or autonomous machinery. It's all about Wall St and gutting the middle class. Pure greed. |
Bannon - 2020 Party of the American Workers. |
NP here. I don't know about 'evil' or 'wicked' based on those quotes...but he is clearly ignorant and not very bright. Using a phrase like "built on her citizens" after recently having left a job where he worked in a building that was literally built like slaves is insanely tone deaf. Whatever the US was conceived as, it included and enshrined in its founding documents the existence of a second class group of people that was explicitly treated as sub-human. To ignore the blood shed and decisions that reimagined America as a dream open to people of all colors and then again separated women into independent actors and voters is simply un-American. It's a throwback to the American of 1860...and a slap in the face to the Founders who created the US as a country capable of evolution. And again with the economic nationalism. It's BS. The US has traded internationally since it was a colony. Heck, we financed the American Revolution with foreign monies from France. And we looked for foreign monies for most wars afterward...not to mention that international trade (and the blockade of the South) was a key factor in our Civil War. He has some delusional notion of America based on a selective reading of a second grade American history textbook. And he expects Americans of all stripes to acquiesce to his views. He's an unAmerican poseur wannabe...and the fact that we elected a lunatic who would put a man like this in a WH advisory role is everything you need to know about what's the worst of us as a country. |
So if it's a contest between robots and undocumented farmworkers, what does this have to do with the American middle class? They aren't getting more agricultural jobs regardless by your logic. |
The American middle class is losing jobs to robots and it's not just agricultural jobs. The nativist talk is simply to consolidate the aggrieved whip makers and fuel an adversarial relationship between struggling whites and poor PoC so that neither can focus political will on those who actually ARE taking the fruits of other people's labor. This way the right can have a populist movement but maintain the oligarchy. And, as others have pointed out, America was built on the backs of slaves and dirt poor immigrant laborers. The last wave of American mega wealthy, the robber barons, made their stacks of gold with the blood of Chinese and Irish immigrants. |
Sounds like Bannon is firing up the propaganda engine at Breitbart for Trump. |
You are confusing the useful idiots. The middle class needs tax relief, jobs, immigration reform, education reform, health care reform. The barbell is breaking and the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The middle class will continue to support these issues and will not support parties. We have reached the end of 2 party rule. Trump needs to deliver and if he doesn't, the people will stand in the gap. This movement has a life of its own now. I do not side with Bannon that denouncing confederate monuments will lead to taking down the Washington Monument. I mean, all Americans are against being ruled by a monarch but Disneyland and Disney World hold a special place in our hearts because they are fictious and magical. Confederate generals were 't fictious nor magical. In fact, the diplomacy that allowed for General Lee to be immoralized is the same kind of diplmacy that allowed NK to have nukes. Hopefully we will learn from this lesson over 150 after the Civil War. |
Can we focus on who has access to education if generations of poor whites and PoC don't? Why do undocumented economic refugees or rich Chinese students get access to private higher education institutions who receive tax dollars before fully qualified poor Americans and rich Americans of all shades? This is bullshit and we know it is bullshit. People don't care and so we have to learn how to cheap the system as well since politicians don't care. |
Because foreign students pay higher rates which subsidizes tuition for residents. They don't get tax dollars. If you want to blame someone for skyrocketing college costs, blame the Rs who keep defunding education. DACA students can get in state tuition in *some* states. That is true. But, I think even some red states, like TX, have figured out that it isn't their fault being here; it's better for them to be educated than not; it would be cruel to punish them for what their parents did. We generally don't punish children for their parents' crimes. but seriously, if Trump and Rs cared about higher ed, why did they put DeVos in as DOE? This tells me they don't give a fig about it. Especially Trump. He prefers universities make a profit and screw their students, like Trump U. |
Someone needs to fix all those robots. Won't be college professors or lawyers |

You're right. It will be other robots. Enjoy being obsolete! |
There won't be anyone to fix those robots if people don't lay off the drugs and can't pass the drug tests. https://www.wsj.com/articles/more-american-workers-are-testing-positive-for-drugs-1494928980 http://www.kansascity.com/news/business/workplace/article154031954.html |
