Is Trump going to resign?

Salvation Army, Red Cross, and Susan B Komen all just announced they will no longer use Mar A Lago for fundraising.

Wasn't the R Trump helped get elected in GA HOuse race associated with Susan G. Komon?

Trump....

I am resigning because of the relentless, senseless and vitriolic attack that is adversely affecting my family and because I want America to succeed. With what has been happening they aren't going to allow what so many in our nation wanted me to accomplish be successful. So, because I love this great nation and being proud of what we were able to accomplish in spite of.....

No one sees this as a possible exit strategy?

No, I assume some combination of Kelly/Sessions/Coats are going to walk Trump through the basics of what Mueller has uncovered about Jared and Donald Jr's collusion during the campaign, Manafort's money laundering, and Trump's arms-length money laundering via shady condo sales. Then Pence is going to explain how the pardons are going to work for Trump and his son and son-in-law. Then Kelly is going to hand him a statement to tweet.

Back at the White House, Miller, Conway, and Hicks are packing up their stuff. Huckabee will hang around for a little while. Next week we'll see immediate resignations from DeVos and Carson. Tillerson will leave as soon as they can find someone to replace him. They'll try to find Perry a good private sector job somewhere quickly. Sessions may be part of the plea deal...he'll stick around for a month, then resign.

No one other than totally nutty liberals see it as an exit strategy. Trump is here to stay - and I did not vote for him or even support him. But this mindless speculation about Trump's resignation is as ludicrous as the birther nonsense against Obama.

Which is why they are doing it at Camp David with Trump presiding? And they say that Trump supporters are unintelligent?

And yet you put him in office.

I could see this playing out.

By NOT voting for him? Yep, that makes perfect sense!

Unfortunately, the ultra-conservatives probably understand this, too. They need to get Trump out of office, install Pence (onerous but not crazy), restore relative normalcy, and proceed with their destruction of everything from the environment to what's left of the middle class and healthcare. Not having Trump in office takes the wind out of some key sails. Nobody will mobilize the opposition like Trump. He is a huge liability at this point. He's also a lunatic, so some of these people in power may be genuinely afraid.

Mueller is needed here. I want Trump to leave in disgrace, but I want him to take Pence and Ryan with him - summer 2018.

I'm going with this answer

Yep. This all seems reasonable.

Serious question: assuming that Mueller has evidence of Trump's money laundering, collusion with Russia, etc., what happens to Trump then? Mueller doesn't simply drop the investigation...Trump & Co. would still face prosecution/punishment for these crimes, right? How does resigning help him if he's truly feeling that circle tightening around him? Seems he actually believes that the president is protected and above the law.

You should seek a job as screen writer for "House of Cards"; you have a heck of an imagination.

Doe that mean the VP AND The other body that Congress provides for. Or is the other body an alternative to the VP and the cabinet together?

IE can congress by law provide for a body (say 10 congressmen) that can report without the participation of the VP?

Good question. To me, it reads the Vice President AND EITHER of those other 2 bodies: a) principal officers or b) other body as legally provided by Congress.

I wonder what "other body as legally provided by Congress" implies and/or could include? Anyone know?

Ha! It's only unintelligent if you assume that Trump knows what his own people are up to at any given moment. I don't make that assumption. It's more likely that they would stage an intervention with Trump that encouraged him to resign first, using their support of the 25th Amendment as the stick to ensure he makes the correct choice.

To add, they probably have the blessing of Javanka, who are conveniently away on vacation.
