| The study certainly didn't consider that all degrees are not equal due to affirmative action. |
Please elaborate. I'm admittedly not the brightest bulb in the chandelier but I thought affirmative action just played a factor into admissions - are you saying affirmative action also gives out automatic A's in courses, that people don't have to work or learn to get a degree because of affirmative action? |
First, the study only considered degrees but not grades. Second, there have definitely been instances, and that s has becoming a trend, that giving hard tests to a diverse student body is accused of being racist. |
Instances. Well there have been reported instances of alien abductions over the years...should we begin considering that all missing persons reports are not equal due to extraterrestrials? |
Facts vs rumors, hopefully you can tell the difference. |
You didn't offer any facts. |
I think that some cultures--Asian and African as well-value EDUCATION. It doesn't matter from who or how, you get your EDUCATION! Other cultures (black/Af-Am) place too much value on feelings and relationships. If I don't like the teacher, I'm not doing her work. With Asians and Africans (and some Americans; I'm Af-Am), how you feel about the teacher (or anything for that matter) is irrelevant. In fact, don't even bring it up in a conversation about why you're not doing well. LEARN, GET YOUR GRADE then get on to college! Period. |
NP with no dog in this fight. Just wanted to say I enjoy watching you give that ridiculous poster a run for his/her racist money. Lol |
| In the early 90s much of Fairfax Coubty was still quite racist and there were even pockets of southern accents. Now it's essentially New Jersey. Give it a little more time. |
| Studies have shown that places like New Jersey and New York are actually more racist than the south. |
Gawd knows, havin' a suthun accent makes you racist. |
Oh no! Pockets of southern accents? How could they let that stand! We must round up all those people and rid them of those horrible, racist southern accents! |
Claps to you. We had the same experience and it’s time to speak out to stop those people instilling fear in young kids. My kids didn’t want to go to school anymore. |
| We have had 2 black principals, 1 assistant principal and each of my kids have had one African American teacher in lower grades. Each also had one Asian American teacher each. |
