Does anyone believe Chinese have a right to birthright citizenship?

We lived there for years and know tons of people who did this and never lived in the US. It doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is Americans abroad having to pay US taxes even though they haven't lived or worked in the US - some for decades. I think it would be more equitable to make a path to citizenship for many who do work in the US so they can pay taxes. If you work and live in the US > you pay US income tax. [/

WTH??? How can they? How would they even know?
They have one billion people. How would they even keep track and find out what every Chinese person does while not in their country?
And... aren't they allowed to buy foreign soil real estate? Why not attend a foreign soil school?
Possibility of the "wrong" thoughts being kindled?

I'm going to try to answer your questions. By saying "international schools" I think the PP is referring to schools in China that were created for foreign residents, so places like the International School of Wuhan or the Beijing American School or the Ecole Francais de Shanghai, etc...The PP is not saying that the government forbids students from going to Deerfield or some other school outside of China.

As for what ooes on in China, the government keeps track of a lot and no school would want to piss the gov off by enrolling kids they know can't go there. Having a billion people means there are a lot of people to watch but it also means there are a lot of people to do the watching.

I don't know what you mean by "foreign soil."
