My boys are "all boy". They were always into the stereo typical "boy" things. They must also be 20% girl because they like to cook and do crafts and sew.
Personally, I don't use the phrase, but I also am not offended by it either. I don't judge someone that uses the phrase. Maybe as a woman I'm 20% man since I have thick skin. |

Exactly.
What is wrong with people taking a second to enjoy their little boy doing things that are stereotypical when you think about a 'boy'. to all of the PPs above looking down their nose at the 'all boy' parent - give it up. You aren't more evolved because you look at your kid as gender neutral. I am not saying that boys should do boy things and girls should stick to girl things, but if a parent wants to embrace their boy getting dirty, kicking a ball or doing something that THEY identify with boy behavior, I would suggest you find something else to get all twisted about. I consider all of this l |

sorry - hit submit too soon
I consider all of the reactions here to be a pile of liberal garbage |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha (Catches breath) Ha ha ha "Moms of girls don't need a 'thing'..." Ha |

It's something that mothers who deep down really wanted girls say.
it's also something that's said to excuse extremely shitty behavior on the part of coddled boys. |
THIS. |
NP But what is a criticism? Sounds like you are upset that you couldn't get your sons to take ballet, but someone else could. Now that's a criticism. |
Trying to do the math here. There are women who deep down really wanted girls. So they coddled their boys, which I guess means they treated them too nicely because....I can't figure out that part, if the moms are annoyed that they didn't have girls. Unless you are saying that they treat the boys the way they would have treated girls. And now said boys act extremely...boyish? I seriously don't understand your post, except I do gather that you seem to have a lot of anger at people who use this phrase. |
+1 I have a hard time believing OP truly couldn't figure out what this phrase meant. |
+ 1 |
I'm upset that I couldn't get my sons to take ballet -- but not that someone else could. Sorry, not everyone is as competitive as you are. If it wasn't already clear from my post, my reaction is "More power to her." |
I can't help but feel sorry for your daughter, PP. I would have loved to have had a girl but instead I have only boys. I don't compare them to girls and wish they were a different sex. How strange. I love them for who they are. |
Wow-that doesn't sound crazy at all, boy-mom. |
| Boy-mom. I like that. |
Nevertheless, people are SO easily offended these days! It has become absurd. |
