College and University Discussion
Indeed. The real question is what the descendants of said 272 slaves owe Georgetown, as evidenced by the fact they most likely remain here in the USA. |
This thread is a magnet for all of the DCUM racists. Now run along or you'll be late for your Klan meeting. Don't forget to wear your hood so you can hide your face, you racist coward. |
Lady, please use your beautiful brain before you use your dirty mouth. Nothing I said above has anything to do with the Klan or with racism. It's just facts. Slaves were oppressed, and got a horrible deal. Their descendants living today--and that's what we are talking about--got a very sweet deal, compared to the descendants of those who remained in Africa. It's pretty obvious, and it's why we don't see many AAs moving to Africa. |
Not quite true. Slavery was the way things were done in the South. Not true at the time in the North, Carribeans, Europe, etc. Obviously a major reason for the Civil War; many at the time thought slavery was shameful and a national disgrace. Not sure that reparations would be easy or the right thing to do. However, this is not the government, but a Church, which has the right to do whatever they want to do. |

Wow, made it to page 8 before I had to remove posts and lock. Not bad.
