| i think the book is worth reading. I don't think Susan kleybold comes off as delusional or trying to skirt responsibility. Honesy, it surprises me that anybody would have that takeaway from the book. |
Not the PP, but generally yes. My parents knew everything that was going on with me in high school. Not in college though. Both my parents entered my room practically every day, opened any mail addressed to me, and went through my drawers and closet. If I had anything weaponry in there, they would have known. |
Did she address her relationship with Harris' parents in the book? I've always wondered about that. |
Sue Klebold searched his room, he did not keep his sawed off shotgun in plain sight. She did, however, say that she failed to search in the hollow headboard of his bed which is a place where he might have stored weaponry. Had she thought to see if he had created a hidden storage space in his headboard perhaps she might have found a sawed off shotgun. |
No, of course not. |
She talked about specific encounters she witnessed between Dylan and Eric, and addressed the boys relationship with Eric's parents after they were arrested. |
I have been trying to find police pictures of Dylan's and Eric's rooms online and I can't seem to find them. I also can not find a detailed list of what exactly was found in each boy's room. I have not heard about this hollow headboard until now. |
It's in her book. I will make it easy and free for you: 1. Checkout book from library, or 2. Checkout audio version of book from library and listen to it, or 3. Sign up for free 30 day trial of Audible.com, download her book and listen to it |
She also gave some very interesting insight into Eric's parents. I don't think they were clueless and were very engaged and focused on their children. They raised their children in a way that is different than most, but they were anything but neglectful. |
How's that? |
At least in one example, Sue wanted to keep the boys apart after the arrest and Eric's mother thought that Dylan was a positive influence in Eric's life and wanted them to maintain their friendship and be able to see each other. |

They had over 100 various kinds of bombs (pipe, grenade) plus ammo and weapons. All of that is not going to fit in a headboard. Also, Harris had a website with a hit list. Parents had complained to the police. I think it is easier now to look back and say I didn't see it, but there were serious warning signs that were ignored by the parents of both killers and the school. |

The parents weren't the only ones who dropped the ball on those two kids. |
OMG, can you please just read her book? DP, but I certainly would not waste my time on a book full of dishonest denial. I saw her interviewed on several shows, and I was disgusted. Sorry, just being honest. |
