There's no comparing the Tea Party. The Sanders Supporters aren't out there in open warfare against their own party, attacking and vilifying their own party leadership, openly calling them liars, et cetera the way the Tea Party is attacking the GOP. Plus, they aren't even all that radical or far to the left. Their views would be considered quite mainstream in Canada or among any of our European allies. |
On one hand they want to say "Sanders isn't an outsider, he is establishment" but on the other they also want to say "Sanders is a socialist"
Can't have it both way, folks... |
Hillary can't win the general. I know many democrats who will just stay home if she is the canidate. |
Have you been reading the threads on here? |
And this comes right before the post about how Bernie supporters are not like the Tea Party. Funny. |
+1 My thoughts exactly. And, by the way, their views are not mainstream here. We are not Canada or Europe. |
This is the most unintentionally funny thread I've seen on here. |
Why? Socialism is an ideology. BS's track record in Congress is in fact, not socialistic. I wonder why he did not start a grass roots movement 20 years ago to implement socialist ideals? Was it perhaps because the idea was not popular at the height of the Cold War? |
Saw a clip of a Sanders rally yesterday.
He said something about people want to know HOW we will do everything I have proposed. His response - the people will demand it. Sure. Once again, details lacking. It will be a HUGE revolution. |
I find that so insulting to people who have lived through actual revolutions, you know, the ones who were shot or run over by tanks to take down horrible regimes. I really wish the Sanders campaigns would find a different word for it. And that goes for anyone claiming revolution from a privileged position. I also am pretty taken aback by the statements that Sanders is some sort of never seen before political phenomenon and trailblazer. It's like we've forgotten 2008 and what that election meant for the country. |
Well, that's the truth. He's calling for things that require constituents demand and hold their elected representatives accountable. Without it, nonthing's going to happen. Voters are taking a risk. But I guess it's a risk worth taking. |
So, what is his strategy when the people DON’T demand it? I think he is a bit delusional, to be honest. I also believe anyone calling for a “revolution” is not the candidate who will unite this country. |
So Sanders said when he voted against the Brady bill that he listened to his consistuents. I wonder what will happen when his constituents will refuse to pay higher taxes. |
So you noticed how he uses "listening to constituents" to excuse egregious votes? Also "defending mom and pop gun shops in Vermont." |
His tax plan is asinine. Most people earning less that 50k a year would be harshly affected by it. That plan alone will kill his chances. |
