United is the only airline from the DC area that goes to Honolulu nonstop, and the plane they use is Boeing 767-400ER.

And my husband who flies UAL all the time says there are no 777s on domestic flights - only international.

Not true, I flew from O'Hare to Dulles in the early 2000's on a 777. That was on United. I know that was a long time ago, so things could have changed.

Please don't sit in First Class with a baby! That is the reason why I sit in first class and will pay any amount of money to do such. To get away from screaming, crying kids in regular seating.

Too bad airlines don't agree with you. Take late night flights if you want to avoid kids. We'll be flying first class for our winter trip.

Baby Benadryl solves all of these problems whether in first class or coach.

Kids can pop up on any flight, so don't even go there.
Enjoy wasting your funds on first class.

Yes, that was a long time ago. Now they often use RJs to Chicago. They used to use 777s to the west coast as well, but not anymore.

Better make it really late. We just returned last night from holiday travel on a 7 pm flight. And will be back flying again next weekend at 7 pm

Better get a private charter.

We didn't really plan for this to happen, but my kids have only flown business/first so far. Just how the flights worked out for us so far. My DH and I both travel a good bit for work and have a gazillion FF miles and decent status so that helps.

To avoid kids, fly during peak business traveler times - Monday AM, Thursday or Friday PM. No kids in first on my flight early this AM.

My theory (then) was the flight out of Dulles was heading to Europe that night. I left Chicago around 1:30 and got back to DC around 4, so the timing made sense.

So 15 years ago you took a short afternoon flight and yet recall the particular aircraft you flew and you're now/still ruminating on the plane's possible itinerary? Must have been some special flight.. . .

Not PP, but I remember my first 777 flight. Don't you?

A good friend of mine knows EVERYTHING about the various planes/configurations. Some people like planes.

Hmmm, I pay for F too with my lap infant. When I don't pay, I get upgraded because of my status with the airline. Too bad for you, I guess.

Yes, and as one of those people, I can tell you that they fly 777's domestically. Most are positioning flights and hub-hub, but they're out there.

I always fly first class and have two babies. They're allowed to travel too.

Same here. We have 4 kids. Usually we have the whole first class cabin to ourselves.

Y'all must be loaded. That's beaucoup $$$.

Not PP, but I don't buy first class tickets - we buy coach and the entire family is upgraded with miles/status/stickers that I earn on business travel. PP must be flying some small airplane if 6 people fill up the first class cabin. And make no mistake, first class cabins are full these days.
