Governors all across the country are refusing to take Syrian refugees

Read the statute - taking in refugees is NOT conferring citizenship on them.

Does the President have power over immigration. Can he force states to give them benefits from their tax dollars? Nope. Even your precious "Think Progress" says so:

To be clear, states still retain the power to deny their own resources to the federal government, so they could potentially make settlement of refugees more difficult than it would be if the states cooperated. Nevertheless, an act of Congress — the Refugee Act of 1980 — has given Obama broad discretion to allow refugees to be admitted into the United States. The states of Texas, Louisiana and others must yield to that act.

The hilarious part to me? That y'all are falling for photos of women and children when the vast majority are young fighting-age men. Add to that that women and children were thrown into the sea on some of those boats, and y'all STILL HAVE EMPATHY.

Well gee, maybe we can just pay the armies of Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, etc., to just machine gun them as they come up from the southeast, since they're all just animals beyond redemption and deadset on martyrdom operations.

So happy about this!

Everyone else that wants them, take them in your homes. I am sure some people would have loved to take in the Boston Marathon killers when they were refugees, right?

I'll do it as soon as conservatives start signing up for the wars they're calling for and paying higher taxes so we don't add another trillion of debt.

They would never do it if it meant their children would be drafted....hypocrites at their finest. They want it all, they just don't want to have to do any of the work or make a commitment.

True. The Paris attackers were Syrian, French, Belgian and other nationals. The only thing they had in common was being of young, male and muslim of middle-eastern descent. Same as the London and Madrid train bombers, the 9/11 bombers, the Charlie Hebdo and Kosher supermarket attackers. Its not a syrian refugee problem, its a male middle-eastern muslim problem.

The involvement of a Syrian has not yet been confirmed.

Awww, did one of you benevolent libs take him in?

Sigh. Why are conservatives incapable of pausing long enough to think? Or is the problem that Fox has left you incapable of thinking for yourselves.

That's ok?

Yes, definitely okay. We welcome him in Washington, DC. I would think that the fact that he is relying on family instead of a charity would be something you would find laudable.

The passport that suggests a Syrian was involved in the Paris attacks belonged to a Syrian who was killed months ago.

ISIS played us and the GOP fell for it.

What is the long-term plan for these refugees? Will they have jobs lined up? Will they be able to support themselves? What government subsidies will they receive and for how long? How do ages and genders break out? How will the refugees be vetted? None of this information has been communicated. I think people might be more accepting if they knew what the plan was rather than just being told that we are going to take in 10,000 to 65,000 refugees to be supported with tax dollars indefinitely. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask these questions. We already have a huge number of unemployed, senior and disabled people in this country who are completely reliant on the government and we are 19 trillion dollars in debt.

Conservative here. My son recently enlisted.

So, the person who had the passport didn’t use it to cross the border as a refugee? Even though it was stolen?
Because what I heard is that the person who had that passport crossed through Turkey - fingerprints matched.

Enlisted is very different than drafted. Not many people here would want their snowflakes plucked out of college to go fight a war. They would be totally ok with others doing it for them though.

They will be taking turns hosting Fox & Friends in the hope of making the show more watchable.

You have no idea if the story is true or not.

Our nation has a proud history of deferments for the privileged. Ask Dick Cheney about his "priorities." Or Trump about his "medical condition."

There are families in the US wiling to take Christian Syrians in.

And yes, I fully agree with you. We need to take care of our own first.
