Governors all across the country are refusing to take Syrian refugees

I think the Obama administration is out of touch with reality when they say the refugees will be vetted thoroughly. How does one do it people who have no documentation and may even lie about their identity?

We've done a pretty good job resettling foreign refugees from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Iraqis, and the former Yugoslav republics over the past few decades.

The Tsarnaev brothers were the exception to this. Still, only two bad eggs out of the millions that have claimed asylum. This really proves that (1.) the American immigrant experience works better here than pretty much anywhere else in the world and (2.) our security services have done a very good job at thwarting attacks and monitoring new immigrant populations.

We can easily handle Syrian immigrants. Only the most savvy and most determined can make it here; those are the immigrants we want!

Depends what they are savvy and determined about.

My must these mouth-breathing faux news watching plutocrats indulge the public in its irrational racist beheader-phobia??? Don't they understand that beheader-phobia causes extremism?? The terrorists aren't the problem, we are! We must condemn beheader-phobia!

Everytime I get in a cab in DC and notice that the driver has at least three cell phones, I wonder what the hell he's talking about and who he's talking to. They know the roads, traffic patterns, typical police patrols, security, etc. And they are everywhere--driving cabs in all major cities. They could be an army among us.

I will agree with this (the rest of your post is garbage)

Those most likely to commit attacks will be the alienated, first generation who grew up here and don't feel like they "fit in" to American society.
TBH, immigrant parents need to do a better of job of letting their first generation children assimilate. Those who try raise their kids as if they are back in the "old country" just tend to produce maladjusted misfits. They then rebel - one of which is the child turning to a violent strain of Islam.

No need to agree with me. Perhaps I'm being irrational. But there's a Muslim cab driver from Northern VA on the FBI's most wanted terrorist list. Perhaps he's the only one...but it really only takes one, right? (Especially if he's very familiar with the streets, travel patterns, traffic, police, security, etc.)

To successfully claim asylum in the U.S. makes a Syrian pretty exceptional. They most likely have a good deal of education (compared to the average dirt-farming Syrian), possess workable English language skills, have a bit of money, and have some connections (either political connections or have a network of people already in the U.S. to rely upon). They are a much higher caliber of refugee than those streaming over land and water into Europe.

I'll take any Syrian refugee who is savvy enough to legally make it into the U.S. That person will end up being a good worker, student, or entrepreneur in any environment.

YES! Why aren't they fighting?? I understand women and children leaving, but why aren't more men staying and fighting for their homeland? If this was in the US, I know we would fight here. No way would DH or I ever leave. And our roots in America are only a few centuries strong, unlike their 1000s of years of history in the Middle East.

No weapons or gear.
Outnumbered by highly trained terrorists.
Women and children don't fight and they make up more than 50%+ of the refugees.
Plus, Assad's forces will also massacre and rape them.

Are you that dense?

Religion isn't allowed in governance.

You'll be opening your home to refugees, I am sure.

Right. I understand that this PP personally volunteered to house 5 of them and promised not to balk when 10 showed up. They will want full room and board and will tell her, in her own home, how things are to be run. Her children will just have to get used to it.

And with whom do you fight? Assad's side? An insurgent group that may or may not be inked with Al Qaeda or Isis? Or with Isis?

It is the educated and ones who speak English and have the ability to move around that are the most likely to conduct the types of assaults that happened in France. The dirt farmers are less likely to have the means and the know how to build bombs and move around undetected. Maybe those are the ones we want, the ones that will take the jobs that no illegal Mexican wants. The underclass to the underclass.

-1! DC should take the lead and provide a sanctuary for at least some of the Syrian refugees.

Because our taxes will provide them a better life. Our shrinking middle class will feed, cloth, educate millions of poor immigrants and refugees in the hopes to become the next 3rd world country.
