Suicides associated with the AM hack

While I'd never condone any of this, and I feel for his family.

I do have a hard time having sympathy for these people. I really do.

And frankly, while I understand suicide is tricky business, to me it feels extremely selfish and cruel to the cheated upon spouse to cheat and then kill yourself. You basically put them in a situation where they have to feel guilty about you dying after you cheated. While I think its a tragedy, I don't know how much compassion I can muster for this.

You don't even know the guy - you must be a republican to pass judgement on him!!!
His wife was a paraplegic who saId it was ok to get it elsewhere. He was sexless for 5 yrs before.
Does that make a difference???? He wanted companionship, not necessarily sex - He had ED....

Well - I don't fkg know him either!!! Above are fabricated!!! But who is to know!

What a Puritanical backward society we are!!! And the further south you go the worse It gets. Poor guy was in Texas - land of holier than thou creeps like.....u

Not an issue that you know about your husband but is there a need for it to be publicized to the whole world?

She probably wouldn't have known her husband was a cheater if not for the hack.

seems a lot were in sexless Marriages for years...personally can't blame them! Maybe the spouse shares some of the blame!
And who did they cheat with??? Lotsa women also in sexless or abusive marriages who stay for the kids....and now nosy puritanical busybodies, some who've never had a decent sex life, are passing judgement???

Here we go again, victim blaming!

What? I feel like if it were any of those reasons he wouldn't be driven to suicide because it wouldn't have destroyed his life. I feel like your response is very crazy sounding.

+1. no excuse for the cheaters, but its sad and pathetic how people are taking enjoyment in all of this.

Agreed.

Have either of you checked the list for your spouse?
I felt the same.
Then I checked this list.
Found his name.

37M people...That's a lot.
A lot of people are hurting from this.

A lot of people are hurting from this. I agree. Which is why I think it's poor taste to pile on the public humiliation by re-posting names or alluding to people the community may know.

I was originally in the 'serves them right'--but seeing the personal nature of it (some really nice parents and kids) I feel sick for them.

It really should be a personal matter and I wish I had never seen these names when looking for my spouses by our zip.

Plus- we just don't know what agreements, arrangements these couples had. Some may have come out- but stay for the kids. Some may have confessed privately to their spouses years ago and now are having it made public. Some may have open arrangements.

Think about a few things.
One being that you are likely to be sued for slander, invasion of privacy, and charged with distribution of stolen property.
You're probably also thinking that the people on AM deserve everything and I feel proud of myself. Do you also feel proud of the embarrassment and shame brought to spouses and children? Children who will be bullied and harassed at school? You say it's the person on AM's fault, but you are the one who pulled the trigger, you will not be 100% innocent of the pain caused. But also think of mothers, fathers, and grandparents who may have health problems and then the stress causes them to be more ill or even die. Again you will have a part in this by being a link in he chain.
You may be thinking karma, but think about it in the sense I just explained above.

Agreed--but the dump was by zip and looking for somebody's own spouse in the zip likely revealed unwanted info about others.

Oh--and it's what you do with what you find out. Me--telling nobody what I saw--not other neighbors, friends, etc. I refuse to gossip or spread anything.
