| Ocean shitty. No thanks. |
I could have written this! Had another convo with DH about this earlier and still he insists all is safe. I'm now going to read this thread. |
Take your chances all you wish. By all means go swimming anywhere you want. I am not so desperate to have my family swim in the Ocean that I'd be willing to risk this. Re: car accidents. I take precautions. We all wear seatbelts. We don't drive during Saturday nights after 11:00pm when drunk drivers are more likely to be out. I make sure I am well-rested before driving on long car rides. I have to drive for work, etc. I don't have to swim in the ocean. |
Ocean City perennially has among the cleanest ocean water in the country. http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/06/america-s-cleanest-beaches-list-includes-dewey-beach-ocean-city-77355.html |
Ok, this newest attack happened at the island where I'll be vacationing in Aigust, yikes. http://wncn.com/2015/06/24/boy-suffers-possible-shark-bite-in-nc-surf/ . Thankfully the child's injuries were minor. |
| What is going on in the water that is causing these sharks to go after people?? Food shortage? |
| Don't go in the ocean. |
Um. No. Case of mistaken identity. Very few shark attacks worldwide in any given year. |

Here we go again?

For those of you who don't know and don't want to click, it is a video of a shark feeding frenzy at Cape Lookout NC in the Outer Banks. Personally, I stay out of the water there because of the rip tides, so never encounter the sharks. |
You're still more likely to be plowed over by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the highway at 10 in the morning than you are to be injured by a shark. |
How about Myrtle Beach? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu4QsFX_KyQ |
