Haha do you know how crowded these beaches are already with point proving northern Virginians and hillbilly western Pennsylvanians? That won't work.
And if they tried someone's got to pay for it. Either your vacation goes up or those who love their pay for your vacations. Leave nature alone. Stop trying to control everything for your comfort. That's what's wrong with America today |
Can the poster of this picture let us know where this is? |
They're called private pools. |

huh? This seems like a great idea |
So I guess if there's a breach in the net no one gets to swim until it's fixed? Awesome. If that's what you're looking for why not just vacay at a Wave Pool? So much simpler. |
Because that's not the beach dum dum! |
+1 While I do not agree with your your delivery, you have a vlid point. The simple answer is that there are less sharks, but there are too many humans. Sharks have no reason NOT to attack! We need sharks to perpetuate the ecosystem. If you try to change nature (example: cutting down trees) - there are always, always, always negative ramifications. People, in general, are not very bright. |
I hate to break it to you, but most beaches today only exist because of sand dredges. |
have you not been watching the news? one attack was on or around Hatteras Island. The other Ocracoke which is just off from Hatteras Island by ferry boat. |
There were two on Hatteras Island - Avon and Waves. Also there was an attack off of Ocracoke. So 3 attacks in OBX within a short time span which is highly unusual. |
You don't want the natural risks inherent in the ocean - go to a wave pool. They can have sand brought in. Make it an indoor wave pool and you won't even have to worry about protecting yourself from the sun. Clean chlorinated water, gentle lapping waves, sanitized sand, no harmful sun rays, no rip tides and No Sharks (or jellyfish or rays or other stinky sea life)! |
| I'm at Carolina beach and plenty of people are in the water. It's quite calm. The whole shark thing has been way overblown. Even if 7 sounds like "a lot" only a couple of those were serious injuries and that's still a small number relative to how many people are in the ocean at any given time. |
I love NC beaches - hope you have a wonderful time. Yes, the risk of a shark attack is pretty low even in light of the recent attacks. But even so...the risk of an attack is elevated for some reason this year. Don't let it wreck your fun but do exercise caution, especially with the little ones. |
