Be honest - is there a specific group in which you are prejudiced?

Me too

Too many bad experiences with them

What's your closest relationship been with an AA? Ever?

I have been having several poor experiences lately with Asian parents - born in Asia, new to U.S. to have their kids, I suppose. Not extremely fluent English. They let their kids talk back to them, do nothing when their kids are being rude and innappropriate, and seem to be entirely bossed around by their small children. Maybe it is the mother only- I'm not sure. There seem to be no definition of what is appropriate behavior vs innappropriate behavior on the playground, waiting for the bus, messing around with friends, etc.
I have Asian friends who were raised in the US and this is not the case with them.

Libertarians. All the ones I know are wealthy white men and major smart asses. Not to mention, they were born on third base and think they hit a triple.

How do you reconcile these feelings? Doesn't having a best friend mitigate or somehow disrupt the racism? If only because you know someone who had this characteristic and was a dear friend to you? In Africa, I've seen white people whose racism is held in check solely by having been raised by a black nanny. It doesn't work that way for you?

Explain. This is interesting.

Asian drivers. As much as I want to be proven wrong about that stereotype, it's reinforced over and over again.

Can you be more specific? Arabs? Or, black Muslims here in the US? Just those who you see are practicing bc they're wearing certain attire? Or is it anyone who holds the beliefs? Can you separate the beliefs from the people? Is this the same for other groups, like Dems or Reps?

I'm the poster who just asked about racism and the best friend. I feel like this could be productive.

Evangelical Christians

They are by far the most annoying group of people in America.

Do Africans, West Indians, and Black Latinos fall under your umbrella as well? Or is just specifically AAs that you don't like?

Arabs. Arab=terrorist to me.

Illegal immigrants. Forget about the PC "undocumented". They are here illegally and then make no attempt to assimilate. Having to "push 1 for English" on a phone call pisses me off

Is that prejudice then? I don't consider it prejudice if experience has taught you otherwise. It's a shame, but it's not racism.

I've been physically assaulted twice in my life - both times it was African American women - shoved away from the metro turnstile after I inserted my card so they could steal my fare. A friend of mine had the crap beaten out of her by an AA woman (the AA woman was trying to steal my friend's purse). More minor occurrences (stolen parking spaces, etc) have occurred as well.

If it's now racist to be a bit more careful around AA women, so be it. My experiences have taught me to be wary.
