The handmade white subway tile we ordered from Architectural Ceramics was definitely NOT cheap. That being said, I'd much rather have the cheap white subway tiles found in subways than any brown or beige travertine. |
Funny I feel that way about subway tile. I see a lot more off that than travertine, buy it prefer stone to glossy ceramic. |
How much per sq foot are those Architectural Ceramics ones? I'm wondering if I should go for those rather than traditional basic subway time. But maybe it pushes my budget or seems not worth it to me. Also want is their specific name so I can Google! |
Subway tile is probably getting there too but you really don't see it as much in hotels and builder-grade houses. Seems like something people use more when they renovate. |
I think colored subway can be very pretty.

| Love those directly above. Love. |

| I like the colored subway tile much more than the white. |
| To the PP who so clearly despises subway tile of every kind, please post a picture of your dream bathroom so we can all learn from your superior taste. |
| I would love for those not so fond of subway tile to post the looks they like, think are a dream, and are timeless. Because I struggle with what to do beyond subway tile that is good and not a fortune. |

Clearly this is a matter of individual tastes and opinions. That one with the stripe down the wall is the antithesis of timeless in my opinion. To me, that already looks dated and I don't care for it anyway. The picture above that is a little better, but I don't like beige/ brown tile much. This mostly seems to be about whether you like warm or cool colors in a bath. |

Yeah - the small glass tiles - the vertical trim in the shower and the band above the tub - look dated to me.
The rest of the bathroom is nice and looks fine, but isn't really what I'd pick myself. |
