Perfect?

The terrible upstairs ceilings, dated wall finishings carpet, drop ceiling in the basement, the illegal basement bedroom death trap?

But what do we think about that neighborhood and street? It appears to be super close to the Metro.

I'm a neighbor so I'm biased.

The neighborhood is fantastic. Very friendly, very quiet but also easy walking distance to the Metro, elementary schools, farmer's market and all of the restaurants, cafes and shops of downtown Takoma Park. Lots of families around. Very near 2 well loved preschool...Takoma Park Child Development Center and Takoma Children's School.

Huh? What's wrong with the ceilings upstairs and what wall finishes? Agree, they should not have staged it with a bedroom in the basement. Would be better staged as a rec room. They are listing it as a 4 bedroom not 5 bedroom so I don't know why they left that bed down there.

If that purple one on Holly with no AC, no sqf, and the pink kitchen went for 750+, then this one is going well into the 800s.

The basement bedroom photo cracks me up but really, having a bar in your bedroom would be kinda nice, right?

So went to the house yesterday. It needs a fair amount of work. It shows worse than the Holly house. Location is top notch, but at that price point I wouldn't be able to do the significant renovations necessary to make it acceptable to me.

That basement is where I'd put my inlaws when they visit. They'd appreciate the bar; it might keep them occupied! If I'd been selling, I'd have pitched it as a playroom though.

That location is great. I think it's a bargain for that neighborhood.

Is that the plumbing waste stack just to the right of the stove in the kitchen (painted blue) ?!

Wow, I think you're right. That's kinda weird, especially since it looks like they recently renovated the kitchen. Why would they not cover that with a cabinet?

Like what specifically?

All of the windows need to be replaced. The siding is in poor condition and would likely need work. The floors need work. I did not like the drop ceiling. It just overall was not a very updated home, apart from the kitchen.

So the Tulip Ave house is already under contract. I wonder how much over list it went for. That neighborhood is crazy.
