Born, raised and still live on NYC for a large part of the year. Little old ladies wearing maybe wearing fur. Tourists might be wearin fur. But not us.

Hillar* please describe "us". I am born, raised, and top-3 private school educated in Manhattan and, yes, we do wear fur. It may be glam, it may be ironic, it may be warm, but we have, hold, and do rock it.

+1!

I don't see how buying a fur is going to give you the pick-me-up you're looking for.

More dependable sources:

- helping someone else
- buying into an "experience" - classes, play, concert, trip

Are all the anti-fur posters in their 20s? That would make sense to me as I'd have probably posted some of this bullshit online if the internet was a thing back then.

Are all of the fur lovers in their 70s? That would make sense that they don't know any better.

Fur looks so stupid in this climate. Winter in DC simply does not approach the temperatures where fur makes sense.

Touche!

I am one of the anti-fur posters and I'm mid-forties. Fur coats look awful. I've always thought they look terrible.

Haha! What does yours look like?

I have two furs, a jacket and a full length coat. I'm in my 40s. Inherited them both from female relatives. I wear the jacket occasionally, almost never the full length coat.

Nope, at least one is mid-30s. Glad I got to you though.
