You're getting paid far more per hr. now than you were then.... but you know that, right? |
| Professional nanny/teacher/parenting coach, 30+ yrs., some college (no degree), but i do endless continuing education. Last FT gig was 60K. Resently been asked to consider working for a celebrity actress. Income will double (at least), if I accept. Will be responsible for training the night and weekend nannies, so my hours wouldn't be crazy. |
| Part-time mental health counselor in private practice, 37, last year, $87k |
I would love to tell parents what they are doing wrong with their brats. How do I get these qualifications and employment? |
I feel you. 41, journalist, $73K. I feel stretched at my salary so I know it's worse for you. Ever dream of going to the "dark side?" |

37 small business owner 50K. I work 450-500 hours a year.
DH is 38 and makes about 280K right now incl bonus. Salary is 220K. He just got a big promo last week and his salary will go up to over 300K he thinks. Bonus will be between 80-100K. |
I'm curious, what's the dark side for a journalist? Fox? |
What field? My max bonus right now is $60k... After my next promo it'll hit $100.. Can't wait - then I'll finally relax. |
What do you do for a living? |
Yes |
PR, I'd say. I'm the editor/journalist ($83k) from way back on this thread. I have applied for several PR jobs but haven't gotten them. |
I'm the 32 yo @ 190k from a few pages back. General mgmt, corporate America. |
| 32yo journalist here. Yes, the dark side is PR. I think about it every day. I know I'd hate it but the money is so much better. |
