I agree B+. Had this been true I think it would've brought superficiality to an all time low. |
| OP, go for it. Put lemon juice in your baby's hair and leave her out in the sun. Then, when her delicate scalp skin fries to a crisp because babies really should wear sunhats, you can explain to her it's for her own good, because shallow people might not like her if she's a brunette. |
She is so beautiful I cry just looking at her sometimes. I was curious about highlights but it doesn't mean I don't like how she looks. API do worry about her having a more difficult time in life if everyone else doesn't think she is as gorgeous as I do. |
| *I not API |
I have one blind and one with light brown hair. At least one of my children will be liked, guess I should be happy. |
| seriously, how come no one is really talking about the fact that putting baby in the sun without a hat is really dangerous to begin with? |
At least the blind one won't know if they are ugly. |
def. a troll. -an ugly blonde
|
A poster early on commented on that, and a recent PP mentioned her scalp burning, too. The OP said that she thought sun hats sounded "cute." What a dingbat. |
Come on, it's also the "aryaness" of her pursuit that rubs people the wrong way. I've never heard of people asking for tricks to darken their children's hair. |
I think there is a big difference with doing thing for cultural and religious reasons vs. doing it because you think your child is not pretty enough with her brown hair. |
PP said for non-religious reasons. Plenty of people circumcise so DS can look like daddy. |
I think she's just stupid. I have my own ears pierced but I am well aware that it is only acceptable for cultural reasons. It is absolutely permanent damage to the flesh of my ears. It's perfectly acceptable in our culture and I think it looks good on me. However, there is no doubt that it is deliberately damaging your body as it was created. Hence it is mutilation. And I think doing that to a small baby is outrageous. I'm not similarly outraged about putting an organic matter (lemon juice) on a baby's head in the summer as there will be no damage to the kid from that act. However, the reasoning behind it is very worrying and I do think that OP needs therapy if she's serious. |
Very well said! |
Actually, there could be damage. Babies should wear hats when in the sun, since their skin is so delicate and burns easily. And I agree, her reasoning is messed up. Babies with light brown hair are perfectly lovely and no one is going to like her child less because she's not blonde. The OP has some seriously messed up ideas about looks that she needs to work on before they damage her little girl. |
