Firstly, when you are pulled over you should never take a breathalyzer (unless you are SURE you will pass because you haven't had ANY thing to drink). Second, you always get a lawyer for something like this. Third, forgive yourself. You are a human being who made a mistake. Learn from it. There's a reason why first offenses of this nature are usually treated more lightly than subsequent ones. Even Jesus wasn't perfect! - Formerly married to a drinker and driver |
You appear to have outed yourself on the Chevy Chase listserv... |
the worst is when you have too much purple drank. The police are really cracking down on that. |
I got a second owi, did my time but am now a felon about to be homeless not entitled to section 8. I am going to kill myself because I have be shunned by society and am doing everyone a favor. I am the worst person on earth and I don't deserve to live anymore. That's what everyone tells me. I am looking for cyanide pills. Can anyone help? If not, I guess I can do the car in the garage thing.
I have decided not to talk to anyone about this anymore because everyone agrees that I should be homeless because I'm a felon, so please don't email me about the frickin' details. My life is over and I have accepted that. I'd try to make it on the streets, but I need medication to live. |
PP, do you have any family in the area that can help you. If this is your second DWI --- you know you are putting people's lives at risk while you are behind the wheel. Don't end your life because of this, change your life because of this! You seem like you know what you did wrong now correct it.
Stop throwing yourself a pity party and change now, help others too, you will feel better about yourself and begin your healing process. |
PP, there are programs out there. Where are you? I don't know much about this, but there is ALWAYS an answer - I promise you.

i hope this is troll |
Yes of course, because it's a PERCENT. So the amount of drinks it would take to get a big guy to .08% is a lot more than it would take to get a tiny woman to .08%. That's how percentages work. |
21:50 please call a suicide prevention hotline and get the help you need. DUI is not the end of the world. Please get in touch with your friends and family now. |
Are you still there? Here is the number and information from the Suicide Prevention Hotline: No matter what problems you are dealing with, we want to help you find a reason to keep living. By calling 1-800-273-TALK (8255) you’ll be connected to a skilled, trained counselor at a crisis center in your area, anytime 24/7. If you can't call just yet, stay here and talk |
Hello? Are you there? |
I posted earlier and wanted to come back to this thread. See, a random stranger somewhere thinks you are valuable enough to talk to, thinks you are a valuable person. Let's talk. I have a brother who I love more than life itself who has struggled with addiction for over 20 years. I can't tell you how many times he has been arrested. Starting with a DUI, ending when he was arrested in a burglary of a vacant home...he stole the copper plumbing to try and sell it for money for drugs. I still love him. I will never stop loving him. He is a valuable person and a good human being. His life is so hard. I cannot solve it for him, but I still love him as much as I ever have. I worry that he, too, could contemplate suicide. Please don't. There is someone out there - ME at least, and probably others - who wants you alive. Please call that hotline. ONLY YOU can get your life back together, but people can help and they will. There are programs to help you get your medication, programs to help you find and keep a job, places for you to stay temporarily, and there are programs to help you, long-term, find housing. Even if it seems sad to get help from strangers, remember that these are people who work with people who are struggling because they want to help people and because they have deep love for human beings. Let them help you. Where are you located? We can help you look for employers who are felony-friendly. There are programs out there. I promise. Hang in there, poster. |
Wow. Add me to the camp that says there is no way you drank two glasses of wine in several hours plus had dinner. AND I've never known a person over 35 who pulls over "to pee on the side of a road!" after two glasses of wine and dinner. That's just disgusting - it's what wasted college students do after drinking a few tequila shots and four or five beers. It sounds like you both polished off quite a bit more wine than you're admitting. |
You didn't kill anyone. You paid your debt and it is now in the past. Yes, the felony is going to follow you, but it is not the end of the world and there are places where you will be welcome and supported. Do NOT give up. |
This is weird. Is the 2nd DWI poster the same as the OP from April 2011? Someone please educate me on this. |
