How much or what % do you tip Peapod driver?

I always tip $10. I have a feeling that the majority of these non-tippers haven't worked a day of manual labor a day in their lives. Those guys work hard, and I appreciate the convenience of delivery.

Looked this up as I'm doing my first peapod delivery this week. Sounds the normal thing is to tip $5-15 depending on size of your order and whether you get it from the truck or they bring it into your kitchen.

I do think it's sort of inconsistent that people are outraged that there are customers who don't tip the peapod drivers, but no one tips the check-out ppl who bag up all your items for you and make sure the bread doesn't get squished, the eggs are on top, etc. There is certainly extra convenience to delivery, but you pay for that with the delivery fee. I will tip since it sounds like it's customary but I don't really see the logic vs. a cashier, deli person, etc.

Do you people all tip FedEx & UPS delivery guys? I never have but maybe I am messing up. That seems like the closest analogue.

I do instacart and tip zero.

I was curious about this topic because pea pod charges for delivery and I wasn't sure if any of that went to the driver. Like any millennial, I turned to Google. Thank you to the NYPD officer, former Peapod Driver - you gave an informative picture which helped me to make an informed decision. I will give a 20% tip or $5, whichever is more. Some of the other responses were heinous....

All of the convenient things we do like put it on your kitchen counter, separate cold stuff from warm, drive down your treacherous mile long dirt driveway in the snow we do for a tip. We don't make the same amount of money as ups drivers because we accept tips. Tips are about 40% of my annual pay. I never ask for tips and treat non tippers the same way I would any other customer. It gets a little annoying however when a customer wants you to pus the groceries away for them for no tip.

We generally pick up our Peapod now but, when we used to get delivery, I always found the Peapod drivers to be very helpful. They would bring the groceries in to the house and leave them in the kitchen. They were always very friendly. A handful of times they were late or an item was missing but that is not the driver's fault. We tipped $10 to $15.

The store is charging me a $15 fee to deliver. I am also expected to tip? iIt is a $10 fee if i pick my groceries up. I assumed the extra $5 was for the driver.

Right? Trying to explain the conventions of tipping to people who aren't from the US and don't come from a tipping culture is impossible. For workers who make a tipped wage, of course you tip. But like the pps says it is so inconsistent for other works who aren't making a tipped wage. I worked as a chamber maid and ALWAYS leave a tip when I stay at a hotel, but I also worked in coffee shops and think it's nice but not necessary to tip coffee shop workers. After reading all this, I will give my first peapod driver $5.

Nothing. They're being paid. That should be sufficient

I've stopped tipping wait staff also, based on what I've read on this forum. It's saved me hundreds of dollars already

I don't tip Amazon fresh. They leave it on the doorstep. I don't tip the UPS driver, why would I tip a grocery delivery?

My Husband and I are fighting about this right now. We alternate paying for groceries every week. We added a tip of $5! On his week. He was pissed. Myself being a former server and he being a former pizza delivery person, I am beyond confused why My Husband tips 25% at a restaurant but refuses to tip the Peapod driver $5! We live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building all the way in the back. We order soda, water, and about $150 other grocery items per week. My opinion, if u don't tip at LEAST $5 ur an asshole. Take ur lazy ass to Giant ur self and spend 3 hours on shopping!

Do you tip Fresh direct? How much?

I make 14 an hour with a masters and 300 a month I have to pay in student loans. But I believe in tipping, it just blows my mind what a waste my degrees were.
