What the heck is going on in Belfast?

What makes you believe those stats? You think they wouldn’t alter the parameters to give people the impression that things are not as bad as they seem?

Cancer clusters get covered up by official stats. Crime gets covered up by official stats.

What makes you think the entities that publish those stats that you cling to like gospel are not manipulating things?

If I were a betting person I’d wager that the frustrations that people are reacting to are based on real life experiences that get white washed because authorities don’t want the population to think that foreigners from a vastly different culture are causing problems.

Youre refusal to acknowledge far right infiltration in these events is something when you post about impressions/stats/white wash authorities.
Do you believe ANY stats?

Not the PP, but you’re doing what you’re accusing this other poster of doing. You’re failing to acknowledge the other contributing factors.

They are civil rights protests.

Plus, they have been mostly peaceful.

You're both either trolls or know nothing about the situation. They were NOT "mostly peaceful" OR "civil rights protests." And they were not organic but coordinated.

They involved male protestors, many masked, who:

*set homes, cars, businesses, and a bus on fire (several dozen people were left homeless)
*smashed windows
*clashed with police including throwing bricks, bottles, and petrol bombs
*blocked roads

Really, really awful things are happening there that are very legit reasons for Sudanese to seek asylum.

Also want to point out that the UAE is funding the RSF who are committing the worst atrocities in Sudan. And the west, especially the US, turn a blind eye to the UAEs funding of these terrorists.

What does any of that have to do with Ireland?

Perhaps they should stop in the first safe country? Why come to Ireland?

There are 50 million people in Sudan. The island of Ireland has 7 million. How many people should Ireland offer asylum to?

What does the fact that European resource exploitation of the Sudan for over 100 years now, including the deep involvement of EU companies (many of which are Ireland-based) in human rights violations in the Sudan for decades now, have to do with Ireland, an EU member state?

Oh, I don't know.

I'm really sorry you people can't just extract from and loot other countries and then turn your backs when the countries collapse. You should definitely burn down your cities. That's the answer.

It would be a fun exercise to qualify how much Ireland has benefited from being a member of the EU and partaking in the contributions of EU-based companies to its economy while the EU and EU-based companies were looting the Sudan.

We could then divide that number by how much the upkeep of a migrant costs per year to come up with how many migrants Ireland must take in.

I don't think you'd like to answer though. Much better to whine and play victim while your lifestyle is subsidized by theft from the very people you complain about.

You want them to go back where they came from, but why don't Europeans and Americans ever go back where they come from and get their fingers out of everyone else's pies?

Exploit the world, import the world.

Invade the world, import the world.

Prop up the Sudan's Islamist governments for decades by buying their oil and all the many resources Sudan exports, import the Sudanese when the edifice collapses.

Enable the UAE's genocide in Sudan by doing business with the UAE and welcoming there investments in your country, import the Sudanese who are fleeing the genocide.

You get it now?

Sounds like your typical BLM protest. Liberals should celebrating this.

Yep. Sounds exactly like what we saw (and continue to see) whenever the left "protests."

Any type of public protest that involves setting fire to or destroying someone else’s property and endangering people is wrong, I don’t care who does it.

They go to Northern Ireland because Northern Ireland is part of the UK and they get a high level of benefits with no questions asked.

He flew from Paris to Dublin and then took a bus from Dublin to Belfast upon which he registered for asylum/benefits.

Northern Ireland is not part of the EU. He went to Northern Ireland. Ireland is a separate country.

Both Northern Ireland and Ireland have historically exported their workers particularly to the US and Australia as the economies in their countries were so poor. They were in no condition to loot Sudan. They were trying to feed their families so the kids would go to America to get jobs.

Only fools would import workers from Sudan
