You sound like an amazing mom. |
I get this if we'd had a normal schedule but so far, it's been a long series of fractured weeks-starting in October. Your kids do NOT need a break from anything. |
| Any major updates to the forecast? |
But constancy and repetition is needed for learning. There breaks are a disaster for actual learning. |
I teach kindergarten and it’s been very hard and it’s hard for them to retain much when they have been out of school so many days. |
+1 I sub a lot at my former ES and I a lot of ES teachers are saying this. |
| I think we should prepare for a delay. If it actually accumulates, then a possible closure. |
+1 Suspect they will announce a delay this evening with the potential for a closure depending if the snow accumulates overnight. |
| Just let us know early FCPS. None of the last minute notice, we’d all like to plan |
Genuinely that’s not how this storm is going to work. It is so iffy they can’t even properly forecast what it’ll do. Plus the accumulating snow is only going to fall overnight. You’ll know in the morning once they see what’s accumulated and can make a good decision based on that. |
And yet I’m sure Loudoun and the surrounding jurisdictions will make the call earlier than Fairfax. Loudoun typically can make the call the night before. |
My guess is all the districts will call a delay tonight but nothing will accumulate til overnight so they will all wait til tomorrow to see if a closure is needed. If it busts we will just go in late. If a lot accumulates they can switch to close. But it would be foolish to call it either way at 5 pm today when it won’t be sticking yet. No district will do that. |
Eh, Loudon gets most of our storms first and harder, because of the weather patterns here. |
Capital Weather Gang has been making updates 3-4 times a day, the track on this one is all over the place. |
| CWG puts us at 80% chance of closure, so i'd start planning now. |
