Can you name any of these many parks? |
The question was “does this actually cause a problem for you” and yes that is really my question. Thanks. |
| People letting this slide are weird. They're purposely having the dog shit on someone else's acreage because they don't want the shit on their massive acreage. If shit is no big deal, let your dog shit all over your grass. |
So to be clear- you don't consider cleaning up dogshit from someone else's dog to be a problem. Glad to have stablished how disingenuous you are. |
Dogs don't shit in the deep brush, they shit on the same trails and manicured lawn...over and over and over. Sometimes 3 big shits a day. Do the math on how long it takes for your trails and manicured acreage to be full of shit. You want to step barefoot in that? You want your own dogs constantly sniffing other dog's shit? It's a-hole anti-social behavior to do this to your neighbor. |
It's one or two trolls. I've already emailed Jeff and asked that they be IP banned. This forum loses all utility if its just a bunch of sock puppets. |
You think people disagreeing about dog shit is a banable offense? |
You'll find out. |
Yes, but the above mentioned scat is small. If the dog is large, the poop is correspondingly so. |
| It’s 40 ac OP. Do you go out looking for dog sh*t? Is that your hobby? |
|
My in-laws have a summer place on the Rappahannock. The neighbors sometimes let their dog run on the property. The worsr offender was my BIL who would bring his dog and let the dog poop all over the yard. BIL would become surly when told his dog pooped here or there. Thankfully that dog disappeared along with the divorce.
It is a thing down there for people to let their dogs run unleashed around the paved roadway. It is also a thing down there for dogs to die from car accidents. |
Uhh, yeah. Off the top of my head: Glacier National Park Rocky Mountain National Park Yellowstone National Park Mount Rainier National Park Mount Hood National Park Dry Tortugas Isle Royale National Park Channel Islands National Park Arches National Park Big Bend National Park Canyonland National Park Yosemite National Park ....... |
| I would say something to them firmly and respectfully the first time. Are there leash laws where you are? If so, remind them. The next time put it in writing. We have entitled older neighbors who cause a lot of drama in other ways and they who constantly let their dog poop right on the border of our land and HOA land. I can't tell them not to on HOA land, but when I catch it, I stand there and watch to make sure it gets cleaned up. I also have needed to remind them multiple times of leash laws. Ever since I started speaking up firmly, but respectfully, they stopped asking for favors. |
So I just looked up leash laws for the county and they're pretty interesting, basically the opposite of a leash law. The regs are written with the underlying assumption dogs will be pretty free roaming and can go onto anyone's property at any time. If you don't want this, you can petition the county for banned dog exemption (for a specific dog) after which they can be fined $150 for each violation. You are also required to clearly mark and define your property to make it clear to the owner where your property starts and ends. That would be a lot on 41 acres. You can shoot a dog only if actively in the act of killing livestock. Just ask the neighbors to pick it up if they see it, but this is clearly just how it goes out there. |
Checking Yellowstone, https://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/pets.htm So, now we need to get a dictionary and agree what prohibited means before I bother with any more of your drivel. |
