And it doesn't make that much of a difference. Very odd. It feels like they just want to be able to say "see there are some changes to Whitman and BCC." |
| The BoE will vote on the closure of SSIMS in January before MCPS selects a final boundary to present in February. |
Why would you assume that when the documents say otherwise? |
| Interesting that Option F keeps Wheaton at ~2,200 students instead of 2,600 like the other options. |
That makes sense, because Taylor needs to know that before presenting his recommendation in February. |
F and G effects tables are live even though the links don’t look like they are. |
Because no one is assigned to SSIMS in any of these options.... if they plan to keep SSIMS open through 2030, how would they know who should go there if no one is assigned to the school anymore starting in 2027? I guess they could grandfather the previous year's 6th and 7th graders but even that only gets you through June 2029. |
They would just stay as is for now and have the new MS assignments take effect in 2030. |
Yes. But I don’t think the council will have technically approved the budget by then? Or does it matter? |
Was that announced in the meeting tonight? Otherwise I don't think we can assume that. |
Yes, the effects tables show the SSIMS enrollment numbers unaffected through 2030. Then the following year, enrollment at Sligo and Eastern jumps accordingly. |
| Wow, Einstein is smaller than Eastern in these options. That's just weird. |
It's very clear in the effects tables. The No Change and With Change numbers are identical, until 2030. |
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they eventually turn Einstein into a holding school. |
Did an Einstein student bully Taylor when he was at BCC? Steal his lunch? Egg his car? Is that why he hates Einstein and acts like he wants to erase it? |
