I don't see someone who blows up boats, drug transporting or not, on the high seas, in extrajudicial killings to be someone who deserves a peace prize. If she really did tell him on the phone she was dedicating it to him because he really deserved it, I guess she's a crafty politician.

How would it benefit her people or the cause of democracy in Venezuela to alienate Trump when US support is critical to their success?

It would be like it Zelenskyy told Trump to F off and refused to wear a suit when he was welcomed back to the WH.

Of course Trump’s ego is disgusting and the requirement for world leaders to placate him insulting, but it is what it is. Very dumb Americans voted this loser into office so world leaders have to figure out how to work his ego to their benefit or else face the wrath of the fragile narcissist, which is petty and vengeful. Standing on principle only gets you left out in the cold.

American voters should have done better and they are the only people to blame for the rise of this authoritarian. His plan was published in a book that voters refused to read or even hear about from those that did read it. They’re getting what they voted for and the rest of us are collateral damage.

I have to say, it has been absolutely hilarious watching this thread over the last 24 hours, starting out with all the empty vessels here chiming in yesterday morning about how fantastic it was that “Trump is going to have a bad day” and how great it was that “a liberal woman of color fighting authoritarianism” got the prize… because most of you knew absolutely nothing about this person. Just your assumptions.


And then when she praised Trump for his support and dedicated the prize to him, WOW did the wind here change direction in a matter of hours, lolz! Now there’s none of the praise of yesterday morning. Instead, you’re all attacking her now and saying it was rigged! She was your gilded feminist champion yesterday. Today she’s just another brainwashed MAGA. Priceless DCUM moment!
