Virginia Democratic AG Candidate Arrested in 2023 for Driving 116 MPH on I-64

Miyares stands with religious extremists, not women or people using IVF:

https://virginiaindependentnews.com/reproductive_rights/attorney-general-jason-miyares-cozies-up-to-extreme-anti-abortion-group/

“The livestream focused on strategies to end abortion access in Virginia, and specifically how to kill a proposed amendment that would codify in the state’s constitution the right to abortion, birth control, and in vitro fertilization.”

It’s a speeding ticket FFS

Have you any idea of a speed of 120 mph? Have you ever driven that fast?

There is no survival possible for those in that car and any car that is unlucky enough to coexist with that speed.

It wasn’t 120mph.

Like I said, it’s a speeding ticket F F S.

OP is a POS.

It was more than a speeding ticket, it was reckless driving, which may be a felony in Virginia.

It was a speeding ticket. Not a felony.

Punishable by up to 12 months in jail.

NOW you set the bar??

No, they threw the bar out.

They will screech about anything they can because they're hypocritical a-holes.

+100. If it weren't for double standards, Republicans wouldn't have any standards at all.

Exactly.

Someone who will bend over for Trump for the next Big Lie…or someone with a lead foot?

Not even a question.

One very well could have killed you, the rest is just moral outrage. I'd personally rather be outraged and alive.

Almost everyone speeds on the highway. Your ability to evaluate risk is fcked up.

World of difference between speeding and doing 116 on a public road. Roads simply aren’t made for that speed, and the closing speed is not something other road users are going to expect.

It takes an aggressive disregard for the law to do that. Just what you want in an AG…

Oh for God's sake. "Public roads aren't made for that speed" - tell that to the Germans.

The faux outrage about this is precious coming from the Don't Tread on Me crowd.

Some of you all are really willing to turn a blind eye to just how reckless Jay Jones recently was and what that says about his character and fitness for public office. No one caught driving 116 MPH deserves to be elected to a position with responsibility for enforcing our laws. Period.

More like the Don’t Run Me Over or Don’t Kill My Teen Driver on the Highway crowd, but carry on.

Blah blah blah.

More feigned “concern” about laws and responsibilities.

It was a speeding ticket. We will put him at the back of the line of public officials whose behavior should be scrutinized.

The Autobahn is built to way higher standards than I64. German licensing is also far stricter and Germans understand that vehicles may be moving that fast and use lanes appropriately.

They also have trains that go even faster so people in an actual hurry can just do that.

It's an egregious violation. It's even worse he acted like it didn't matter.

Now he's going to hand the election to Miyares. What a dumb clown Jones turned out to be.

Look, I get that it could be confusion, but that is truly embarrassing for a candidate for governor of Virginia to screw that up so royally on the campus of one of the two schools. Her handlers should be fired.

Lies.

Not egregious.
He didn’t act like it doesn’t matter.

Rs can’t win without lying.

The number of 20 something males who are convicted of driving over 100mph on the toll road in Ashburn is pretty shocking. It's a thing. They all seem to get community service and a big fine. There is a mom I know from our kid's high school sports who has multiple reckless driving convictions who still drives like an asshat who I don't believe has done a day of jail time. She has a beach house in Fl and she has tickets in every state from Va to Fl for reckless driving. She has been able to switch back and forth between her maiden and married last names and I think she has played a game with that to avoid more serious repercussions. I don't believe she's ever spent a night in jail.
