THERE IS TONS OF CLINICAL DATA.

This right here!!! I wish someone has called this out! My own child participated in vaccine and booster trials with very rigorous protocols!

Yes, and didn’t some of these trials and research say that the Covid vaccine was not recommended for healthy teenage boys because it could harm their hearts?

Actually getting infected with Covid brings a much higher likelihood of myocarditis than the vaccine. But for those worried, there are other Covid vax choices

But the vaccine doesn’t prevent Covid. It just helps with the symptoms. And that could help with mycorditis. Could also be a double whammy of risk of the vaccine and the infection even if mild. I don’t think we really know in this specific case.

can lessen the lethal effects of the symptoms - i'm willing to risk it.

Yep and it seems reasonable for some parents to choose not to risk it for their healthy kids.

No one has been forcing kids to get covid vaccines. There were some local requirements at the heights of the pandemic, but it's literally been years since there's been any requirements
And since I am immune suppressed, I would like to retain the choice to have my family vaccinated if we decide that is what is best....but that choice has been taken away
I now have a prescription from my doctor (an extra step, an extra co-pay) which will hopefully help me get this years covid vaccine for myself, but the people I live with can't help protect me

So F you and your choices

I’m sorry you feel that way. I support the right for anyone/family to elect to get the Covid vaccine much like a flu shot.

DP...it is really condescending to say "I'm sorry you feel that way" - we live in a society, a community - with other people. We are supposed to be in it for each other, and particularly where communicable diseases are concerned. Your condescending response to someone else's serious health concerns is simply selfish and myopic. I really hope you never have family members in the same boat at the PP. I do and it is horrific to see how absolutely terrifying it is to know 40% of the population could not give a crap if they kill my family member with their selfishness.

I’m sorry you feel this way as well. Be well.

The problem is that people who always had a choice decided that they don't feel comfortable that other people are making different choices, so they decide to take the other people's choice away....and then call it freedom

I don't understand how they can say Trump deserves the Nobel Prize for the mRNA vaccines, yet Kennedy says the mRNA vaccines killed and harmed more people than the virus. Make it make sense!

The privileged will retain options, but poor kids will not.

That is exactly who public health is supposed to serve.

Related PSA: I was just talking to my pharmacist and asked if she had any advice for me as someone with chronic lung disease who would like the next Covid booster once it’s available. She said it’s all still up in the air, but that the best way be prepared is to get some kind of order/note/prescription/other proof from a doctor to have in hand when the time comes. I happen to have an appointment in a few weeks so will plan ahead for that. Thought I’d mention it here in case others need to do the same thing at upcoming appointments.

Whoever this "they" are you are referring to isn't a group to take seriously. I've never heard anyone with an IQ over 80 suggest Trump deserves a Nobel Prize of any kind. Ignore the fruitcakes.

I think the Pfizer guy is trying to make a play - he knows trump wants the prize, and he knows trump likes praise. So he combined both in the hopes of getting trump’s favor. Many before have brought shiny gifts or lavished fake praise upon trump, because he is easily won over.

Given Trump had nothing to do with the development of the mRNA vaccine other than pledging to buy the COVID19 vaccine if it worked, I am not sure why that low bar deserves anything.

The only thing you got wrong is that they don’t understand that poor people will suffer the most. Oh, they understand….that is the whole point.

Yes - that is called data. Saying data doesn’t exist is a lie! It’s very important for people to make decisions on risk and benefit.

That’s actually not how vaccines work. You don’t live longer because of them.

My guess: 1 - you know no one who contracted polio in their youth/teens and were confined to a wheel chair (the last person living in an iron lung died last year!) for the duration of their life; 2 - you know no who lived in a TB sanatorium prior to the development of effective antibiotics. You basically know nothing about public health. I'm praying for your children.

I hope they didn’t throw those iron lungs away. Florida will need them.
Not a joke. My relative had polio as a child because he was too young for school and the school was administering them. His mom didnt know where or how to get one for him. He spent the rest of his childhood in and out of iron lungs (able to breathe without it at times), only seeing his siblings through the hospital window to the ground far below.
That. Just. Sucked.

Except for these days, if someone doesn’t have health insurance, they’ll just be left to die. Or they’ll be administered to the hospital and be in debt.

Setting aside is lying and completely asinine policies, he looks absolutely horrific. Something is truly wrong with him beyond the voice disorder. The leathery skin, the strange look in his eyes, the wheezing and heavy breathing, and he seems to be uncomfortable sitting in a chair. He looks like a monster.

Sarah Longwell, who runs focus groups says Kennedy has the highest positive rating of any of Trump‘s cabinet members. Too many people don’t understand science, public health or data.

Nationally polling suggests otherwise.
