Just pointing out we can't really take your word on the situation. It has no value. |
So you are arguing to legalize a lot of these people? I am with you on that. I personally have been impressed with a lot of immigrants I have met. This country would be wise to grab on to them and hold on to them. |
lol ok. when you can’t argue with the substance, you resort to name calling. got it. |
Then why are you on this thread? In fact, why are you on this website? You could say the same thing about every single post. |
| NP. I’m confused too that posters are questioning whether OP is telling the truth. It’s not like it’s a crazy story. |
LOL. Yes, it is morally wrong to use black market labor when it undercuts the domestic labor market. Unless you are some Ayn Rand libertarian jerk where everyone just looks out for themselves and doesn’t care about the common good. Again, if you can’t be bothered to care for your fellow Americans, why do you expect them to care for anyone else? |
Okay, answer this question. Do you want to deport all these undocumented immigrants even though you voted for Harris or do you not want to deport them? You are being extremely unclear. |
The American worker does shitty yard work. If the American worker wants to make $36 an hour doing yard work, they need to up their game. If my guy were legal he’d still do a good job. I know he would. But he’ll never be legal. Can’t be. I’m not penalizing a hard working man just because he didn’t have to dumb luck that the rest of us did of being born in this country. He’s here, he’s honorable, he’s working hard, and he’s getting my money. |
You make up fictions about lawn care quality in order to justify paying below market labor rates. Quit lying to yourself to play white savior. |
If I could easily get someone “legal” for $36 an hour working on their own, how is it “below market?” |
lol, how is it immoral? The best you could do is to argue some nationalistic BS, which would be ironic since the current administration is dead set on the destruction of the country. It’s also not moral to treat people the ways that MAGA treats people, immigrants included. Women included. Minorities and children included. If Jesus returned you guys couldn’t wait to jail and torture him. You probably would have already deported his mother. No lectures on morality or ethics, please. Is your position some joke that we don’t get? |
|
OP here. Just for the hell of it, I asked AI. Here’s what it has to say about what I’m paying:
Yes, $36 an hour is an excellent rate for yard work, far exceeding the average wage for the industry. The average pay for a landscaping or lawn care worker typically ranges from $17 to $25 per hour, with specialized or management roles earning more. A rate of $36 an hour reflects high skill, premium service, or specialized work. |
Your talk about being “set on destruction of the country” is interesting coming from someone who does not believe that nations have the right to control their borders. So when does a country have the right to enforce its immigration laws? |
| This is just Democrat policy on a small scale. |
You do realize that what you are paying and what his hourly earnings are, are not the same things right? He has overhead, maybe less than a legal worker, but overhead all-the-same. Someone else walked through it, but his wages will be roughly half of what you pay him. |
