It's kind of nuts that we give vastly more visas to basically subsidize the shit out of tech than we do for ag and construction, when people are suffering and struggling with ever increasing housing and food costs. |
All they care about is money. |
This is actually pretty cool solar powered AI weeders. https://www.legit.ng/business-economy/economy/1662983-ai-robots-fill-weed-killers-farm-hands/ It does disrupt the economy. But, who needs herbicides and genetic engineering. This is awesome. |
When AI replaces your mid-six figure job and you need to liquidate assets to feed your family I’m sure your plumber would be happy to buy your Porsche at a decent price. He’ll probably pay cash. |
If AI can replace a mid-six figure job, it can diagnose any plumbing issue and tell the unemployed Porsche owner how to fix the problem. |
Computer science grads have the highest rates of unemployment. Learn another field and learn how coding & AI streamline your effort. Computer science shouldn’t be a major anymore. |
AI reduces labor costs but in the end, labor costs won’t matter if you cannot sell your product to any consumers. |
It's artificial because of H-1B. Microsoft laid of 6,000 people and brought in 9,000 h-1b. I'm so glad Trump is doing something about the evil job killing EO's Biden signed. |
Maybe violent luddites will be the next burgeoning industry. |
What the hell are you talking about? I hope you posted that as satire. Mullions of Americans went back to work under Biden, after massive low employment numbers from Trump's mishandling of the pandemic. Indian coders didn't start pouring into the country because of Biden EOs. Nor did Microsoft lay off thousands because of Biden EOs. And Trump isn't sending Indian coders back home and putting American coders back to work. |
The plumber won't have any cash because he won't have any jobs because no one has money. Ai won't take him/her down but the bad economy will. |
New paper shows that AI may actually be slowing things down even though it feels faster. https://the-decoder.com/ai-coding-can-make-developers-slower-even-if-they-feel-faster/ |
Plus it got a lot easier to figure out how to fix things yourself thanks to the proliferation of how-to videos on Youtube. In the last couple of months I fixed issues my car, replaced a my sink disposal unit, fixed problems with my hvac and two major appliances and so on. Keep voting for Republicans who keep our wages stagnant and soon you won't be so boastful about how much better you are for not going to college and becoming a plumber instead. |
