Trump is helping these people, just not with coddling and handouts.
Their lack of respect is due to their lack of a father figure in the home. GenZ is the Divorced Parents Generation. They need a daddy. Trump is that daddy.

They're going to have to pay back the huge debt he just put on the country.

No, they are going to have to pay back huge student loan debt incurred to obtain degrees with no marketable skills. See Charlie Kirk on that.

He is damaging the economy just when they need to enter into it and get jobs.

Trump’s tariffs have put billions into the government treasury. It will take dome time for the American economy to bring offshore jobs back home. Short term pain, long term gain.

He pretends the climate change doesn't exist.

Trump knows the climate has changed numerous times before humans were in any great numbers.

One of Trump’s pet peeves is whining. Climate whiners have ticked off Trump, as well as a large number of Americans, who have had enough of these Chicken Little Climate Whiners, the majority of whom are Democrats.

The sky is not falling. Americans are enraged at being blamed for Global Warming/Climate Doom.

See also Charlie Kirk on this matter.

He's trashing education, trashing the department of education, beating on colleges and universities.... These are the things that are right now important to this age group and he's smacking them around.

Universities have largely become a scam, peddling worthless degrees which do not equip a person with marketable skills to earn a living.

Again, see Charlie Kirk.

They now enjoy less rights than their parents, did not more, thanks to his scotus picks and he brags about that.

Because previous administrations did not have the guts to enforce our immigration laws, Trump has had to step in and put the Fear of God into these lawless infiltrators.

Break out immigration laws? Trump is kicking your ass out of our country. This is why Trump was elected but all milquetoast Democrats can do is call him a meanie for enforcing the law.

As someone in business, many of our companies are CLOSING manufacturing facilities. Tariffs mean that companies can't expand if they don't know the impact of the tariffs. You can't finance and reshore if you don't have stability. Small companies are closing b/c the tariffs are having a huge impact. Only someone who listens to Charlie Kirk and watches FOX news would believe that a company is bringing manufacturing back to the US under these circumstances. You clearly have no idea how business works.

No matter what Charlie Kirk says, college is still the better investment by a long shot. Companies are not hiring right now. Too much uncertainty.

Any one who quotes a moron like Charlie Kirk can't win an intelligent argument. At least have the decency to quote an economist.

As someone also “in business” - I need smart people who can turn wrenches, not smart people who can develop yet another app for finding a place to get your car repaired. We need people who can do the repairs. Not a generation of people who can write code.

As someone also “in business” - I need smart people who can turn wrenches.

What business are you in? Are you pretending to be someone who owns an auto repair shop? #MAGAfantasyLife

Why would I need to pretend to own a business as commonplace and ordinary as a service shop? Don’t get me wrong - there’s nothing I’d rather be doing - but it’s not exactly a humblebrag, kitten. I turn wrenches on cars because your husband is too dumb to do it himself. So I make a comfortable parasitic living doing the stuff you can’t do yourself.

And the funny thing is, I’d never hire your kid, because he’s guaranteed to be as inept as his parents. So one day he’s gonna be paying my sons for the stuff he’s too dumb to himself, just like dad.

Generational stupidity you might say. I swim in yours like a pool.

I understand now why you quote Kirk

Wasn’t me. There’s other posters on this thread you also hate. I’m not a fan of his.

Gen Z boys were reacting to the DEI and identity politics that Democrats were espousing for the last 10 years. Think of it from their perspective. If you were a white, Asian, or Latino 18 year old straight male, it became clear you were not welcome in the Democratic Party because of things you have no control over - your race, sexuality, your parents income, your religion, and so on. Progressives identified these boys as the enemy. And GenZ boys responded accordingly and tuned out Democrats and tuned in Joe Rogan.

But that didn't mean for a moment that they liked Trump and the GOP. It's just that Democrats identified them as an enemy. They were always told to be "allies" while the focus was elsewhere. These boys have the same sensibilities as most young people when it comes to health care, the environment, a social safety net, education, and so on. It's just that Democrats went out of their way to antagonize young men. They are as appalled by Trump as everyone, but they feel unwelcome among progressives and the Democratic Party.

The bolded could only be written by someone deep in a right wing fever dream bubble and is so full of BS as to be incomprehensible.

You clearly don't know any 16-24 year white, asian, or latino boys. And black boys are going the same way. Very few of these guys like Trump or Republicans, but they feel completely ostracized and unwelcome in the Democratic Party. That's a party for old rich white and black women who have zero connection with the real world.

ok genius... how do you make the party more oriented towards them? I mean, 100 percent of the policies are for the benefit of young people, people who make less than $300k a year and anyone who is not a nazi...

You can start fixing the problem but not denying that there is a problem. The Democratic platform seems to be "we're perfect and if you don't agree, you're a nazi". Do better.

--signed a lifelong Democrat who would never vote for Trump

Okay. I'll play along, and admit we have a problem. So what could the Democratic party do to make itself more attractive to GenZ males? Biden proposed college debt relief, and advocated for trade school training. He funded infrastructure projects that would put Americans to work. But you're suggesting that isn't enough. What specifically would you like to see from the next Democratic candidate that would say "we made a mistake and here's how we're going to make you welcome in the party?"

I think a start would be recognizing that just because someone doesn't agree with everything the Dems believe does not make them the enemy. And it doesn't make them a racist, nazi, homophobe, etc.

It sure would be nice if Republicans would extend us the same courtesy. Just trying to discuss issues with MAGA, we get called socialists, communists, traitors, scum, vermin, and worse.

Respect is a two way street. Be willing to give what you want to receive from others.

Agreed. MAGA is terrible. But we aren’t talking about converting MAGA. We are talking about keeping GenZ men on our side. And if we want to do that, we have to learn how to talk to them. How to reach them. How to keep them. That’s where we are somehow failing and we are trying to tell you how they feel. But you don’t want to listen.

I have two of them and know all of their friends both from high school and college.

They ALL hate Trump.
They just tell you that so you won’t screech and scream like a harpy, spittle flying from your mouth yelling about Trump and cursing everyone who voted for him.

They know if they even hint a glimmer of supporting Trump, you will explode with venom and bile.

All people, regardless the generation, don’t want to be around people like that.

+1, my kids learned to pretend to be progressives in high school, to fool their idiot teachers, who they quickly learned would explode into half hour rants about Trump if anyone suggested anything positive about him in his first term. Two classmates in our younger son’s English Lit class both got D’s for being Trump supporters. That was a powerful life lesson for him and his older brother and has served both of them well in college.

What is Trump currently offering to young men?

For one thing, Trump is not wagging a finger in their faces lecturing them on toxic masculinity, that because they are males they are part of the rape culture.

After being scolded by harridans and busy-bodies, they are told they must use ungrammatical pronouns to refer to trans-women who are, despite facts of biology, are indeed women.

GenZ White men are told they are the descendants of slave masters who killed the peaceful, harmless, gentle and kind Native Americans. White men are hateful, homophobic, and must be swept aside to allow women and POC to run the country.

GenZ is not listening to your silly Girl Power, your anti-capitalist, anti-American tirades. Even GenZ POC are appalled and are disgusted.

DP. Your response demonstrates how out of touch Democrats are with Gen Z men, which was reflected in the shocking movement of Gen Z male voters to Trump. Breaking it down:

College debt relief is only persuasive to people who want to go to college and view it as valuable, which is an increasingly small percentage of the Gen Z male population. Also, it’s perceived as a handout to people who are already rich, again not something that will appeal to young Gen Z men.

Infrastructure projects are mostly useless for Gen Z men. Those jobs are unionized and largely unavailable to the same group. If they even care about the infrastructure bill, they view it as a giveaway to boomers and Gen X.

What should Democrats do to attract Gen Z men back? Focus on jobs creation for jobs they can actually get, not union gifts. For instance, build up the military, rethink a GI bill type of approach. Celebrate blue collar work, don’t disparage it. (I remain convinced that Trump’s genuine pleasure in his McDonald’s campaign was a turning point for a lot of Gen Z men, who saw a man who respected jobs they can get and perform, while the Democrats mocked the jobs.) Drop the incessant identitarianism, it’s incredibly off-putting. Drop the insanity that is defending trans women in women’s sports, it’s a hugely alienating issue for a lot of Gen Z men. Drop blind allegiance to Netanyahu.

Do that, and you might get Gen Z men back.

So be anti-college and promote them working at McDonald’s for the rest of their lives? How does that sound like a great life? It sounds like the effing gilded age.

You don’t want solid, skilled union jobs with a focus on lowering child care and housing and improving education? You know, the DEMOCRATIC platform?!?!

Sigh. You want to just keep losing, don’t you? Let’s get a few things straight.

No Gen Zers actually believe the Democrats care about education any more after Covid, so you can drop that. Trying to convince Gen Z that Democrats care about education will only get hollow laughs.

Union jobs are hoarded by Gen X and Boomers, so are unavailable and mostly useless to Gen Z.

Trump wasn’t being aspirational with the McDonalds gig. He was meeting Gen Z where they are now. And that’s what they see in their future. Democrats mock and disparage those jobs (Harris with her inability to prove any time spent at McDonald’s was so awful, it was so clearly an insult by her). Trump in contrast celebrated the labor. He didn’t change who he was — he was out there with his usual suit and tie — but he telegraphed respect, satisfaction, and pride.

Of course that shouldn’t be the ideal future. But it is what Gen Z has now, and Trump acknowledged that.

So, GenZ is consigned to a miserable scrap heap of poverty, and Democrats will win them back by saying "Yep, that's all you get". I have a problem with this game plan.

Kids have learned to lie to their teachers for sure. It’s a mark of trust when a Gen Z man tells you what he really thinks, even cautiously. They’re used to hiding everything, because that’s what schools and the culture more generally rewards now.

I know no one gen z male who likes trump. Don and his friends that age. Daughter met someone in college who
Liked trump but he was a social outcast when he announced this. He’s changed his mind after the recent disastrous months.

Again, when have Democrats campaigned on calling out toxic masculinity, pronouns, or any of the other silly "woke" stuff you mentioned? At most a few local school boards in Montgomery County or Berkeley California have mounted campaigns like that. I might note that local school boards in the South have also advocated banning books and mandating Christian theology, so there's nutters on both sides when you start drilling to the local level. But at the national level "wokism" is coming from social media and academia, not from the national Democratic party.

ok genius... how do you make the party more oriented towards them? I mean, 100 percent of the policies are for the benefit of young people, people who make less than $300k a year and anyone who is not a nazi...

You can start fixing the problem but not denying that there is a problem. The Democratic platform seems to be "we're perfect and if you don't agree, you're a nazi". Do better.

Well, the Democrats haven’t offered anything that would actually help Gen Z men. Trump acknowledges their pain, poverty, and struggle. Democrats essentially tell them to sit down and shut up.

What would really help Gen Z men is an investment in the military and associated education/training/fitness but Democrats will never support that.

Tariffs are anti-capitalist. A sitting potus telling people to boycott an American company is anti-capitalist.

Only weak men are scared of Girl Power ( I think it's a silly term, but I get what they are trying to convey).

Um Dems fully support funding training programs. As a matter of fact, Obama tried that with IT training programs in coal country, but young men still wanted to train on being a coal miner.
