When will St Mary’s announce honor roll for 3rd trimester?

I have an idea....maybe St. Mary's could start a competitive sportsball team called Honor Rollers.

OP has already mentioned she doesn’t have enough influence in her family life to switch schools, apparently her husband makes the most important decisions in the family, even when she is opposed to these decisions.
So her chosen rebellion to this situation is to make ridiculous remarks about a school and even more ridiculous responses to other posters.

….though in truth, I almost hope this is a recent graduate, only because the responses to other posters are so sophomoric.

So sad and primitive. Instead of addressing the substance of the argument/issue, you make ad hominem attacks and question motives, etc. Not surprised that you deemphasize academics and prioritize sportsball.

But believe it or not, many parents would prefer an atmosphere that consistently celebrates and recognizes academic achievement.

Then choose another school.

Why do you never address this most relevant question?

Why I don’t choose another school has absolutely ZERO relevance to the question of why the school doesn’t consistently publish honor roll. Sorry that you’re unable to see or understand that.

It has everything to do with your preferences for your children’s school. Your current school down align with your preferences and hasn’t for years.

Why are you still choosing a school you don’t like?

Yeah but OP you keep arguing the local public schools do this, which just shows you really, really don't understand what any other school outside of St. Mary's does.
-someone who left public school in large part over academic issues

Is it still a team if it only has one child (her own) on it?

My preferences have NOTHING to do with the topic. Am simply asking why the school is so inconsistent about celebrating and acknowledging academic success and excellence, while seeming to prioritize sportsball.

If you want to, you should start a new thread about “why parents who seem unhappy with a facet of their school don’t change schools.” Go for it — Totally different topic. But here, you’re just trying to deflect and distract. I don’t blame you — my question is a tough question for you and the school to address. But try to stay on track. Focus. Don’t fight the question.

OP - have you considered employment or even volunteerism to partially fill the obvious void(s)?

You say this is a tough question for the school to address. Have you actually asked them and what did they say? Or is there a part of you that realizes how annoying and self-promoting the question is?

OP, were you happy with your child’s math placement for the upcoming school year?

The question cannot be answered by anyone on DCUM. Everyone knows this, including you.

Why ask this question here?

I’m sure op opts for the lowest math placement possible so that her child will make honor roll.

Says the person posting anonymously on DCUM. I wish my life were as rich as yours.

They should have sportsball in church during an all day mass every week. OP’s head would explode.

OP, does your child care?

My kid consistently makes honor roll. She doesn’t really care about the certificate or the assembly.

Frankly, neither do we. I don’t even know where any of her certificates are. Her transcript and her effort are important; the public recognition is not.

Is this something YOU care about as the parent, or is your kid actually upset?
