Buc-ee's first Virginia location to open soon!! Who’s making a road trip over there?

If you are in the DC area you would not be going to UVA via I-81. You would take 29.

Buc-ees and their spotless urinals make me happy to be a man.

It really is. Last month we moved away from the DC area and on my long drive to our new home I passed by a few Buc-ees. I stopped in a couple to use the restroom and it's bizarre how extreme the "people of Walmart" type it was. I remember thinking "This isn't real-right? These must be paid actors to just create a specific ambiance here." I literally felt like I was on some type of Truman Show experience that everyone else was in on except me.

This made me LOL.

I would 100% prefer to stop at a Buc-ees than the South of the Border mess.

My family has driven by South of the Border 6 times in a year or so and no matter what time of day, the place is empty. We thought it was closed.

There are at least three obese people in that photo alone, as well as some weirdo still wearing a Covid mask.

It’s totally maga. They have “Texas” right on one of the signs.

I didn’t find it to be at all. We went recently when we were there for a JMU visit. The kids wanted to see it. I hated it. I read about it here but was still shocked by the crowds but more the noise. It was so loud. We got in and out fast.

Still, my one teen has since taken a road trip back with friends. He wasn’t that interested to stay with us but it must have been more appealing than I realized.

What's the attraction to these places other than the reportedly ultra clean restrooms?

While you are there, check out the Green Valley Book Fair a few miles away. Truly amazing warehouse like building with thousands and thousands of new books, many $5. There are classics, fiction, nonfiction, huge children’s section.

Because the store and products are so good (positive) , or because of the reported crowds and madness? (negative)

Urinals are emblematic of toxic masculinity.
