Globally, the only schools that really register are Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Berkeley and NYU for some reason.

Not true. I’m Italian, worked in Germany, UK, Dubai and Tokyo over 25 years. Now in the US.

Sure the ones you mention everyone knows PLUS:

Wharton, Yale, Princeton, Michigan, UCLA, Cornell.

I dont care what anybody else here says. Outside of these 11 schools, nobody else knows much about any of the other schools….it is that simple. These command respect. Everything else is (oh…let me look at it as I dont know much about it….)

Agree. People globally absolutely know Cornell.
And Michigan and UCLA.

I just googled and AI tells me that WashU has the highest percentage of international students (over 30%) compared with Cornell (26%), Michigan (13.9%) and UCLA (a mere 11%) of its student body. So, which school is it that is not known internationally? Data does not lie!

WashU is 30% international?!?

Well cross that off.

9% of the undergrad. 30% overall

That would be a huge % for grad school.

Pick the ones that DID NOT cave to Trump. There's a list of universities that infamously did, lead by Columbia U, and they're listed by state.

Ordinarily, I'd say the one with the best technology program and who is sending the most graduates to the top tech companies. And that would most definitely be Wash U,!

My kid wouldn’t go to WashU for free. So there’s that.

The international students we know are transferring out of US. I can’t imagine new applicants choosing to come here under this administration. Don’t know how that plays out with with. college that relies on big international tuition dollars, as wash must.

Huge difference in prestige. But if you love Missouri, then go for it.

It's 4.1 actually and is the same as NYU

Have you guys ever been to WUSTL?! I do wish your kids steer clear of it so there is less competition for my kid. To OP's question, Cornell is much more famous than the other three internationally. It's in the same league as Harvard and Stanford, and more famous than all the other Ivies.

WashU = Northeastern/Lehigh/Emory

WashU < Any Ivies or near Ivies

Princeton seems to think otherwise at least

Columbia not included but Wustl is?

I guess they needed a bottom anchor benchmark for wustl
